I believe any positive ID will be used in the future to control the population. I don't like to be controlled, categorized, and treated as a number, or a marketing demographic/classification by a government that is armed to the teeth, and has shown time and time again that they believe they are above the law. Yes it is normalized around 100, but this index has been increasing over time and must be recomputed to account for the overall increase in IQ in the population. Do some research and you'll see I'm right.
IQ has increased 3 points per year for quite a while now. If nothing else, these improved marketing methods will increase this "increase in knowledge" so to speak. This has been a game that we've played since the inception of man, ever improving manipulation methods to meet ones own ends.

Agree, most BS degrees are taught by PhD's at the higher levels anyways, so most 300-400 classes that you take are taught by a Professor. Same goes for B.A. and Econ. So I agree, the statistics are highly misleading as far as total numbers go, but they do show growth trends as the PhD grad numbers most likely highly correlate with non PhD granting universities.

You crypto the email, and only send such senstive emails on "protected" networks. Between the two, you pretty much have eliminated the problem (never gets on public network, and if it does, cryptography keeps it locked up for the next decade).
It's called the Punishment part of our legal system. It helps society because it shows that if you hurt x number of people, you will be hurt back proportionally, not just fined for 2 percent of what you stole. Sentences like this make me want to rip people off as well, because the consequences of getting caught are low, and if caught, the punishment will be nill. Punishment is meant to deter this from happening again, and absense of punishment will just add fuel to the fire. Hope that answered your question.
The punishment surely does not fit the crime. No jail time? This is absurd, and absurd you would support this obvious miscarriage of justice due to appearant cronyism. The hurt caused by this mans actions far exceed whatever value he had to society. He should get 10 years minimum...
My thoughts exactly. The CS stuff can be outsourced, jobs that can only be done here can not be. So this is why i did a degree in finance and economics and minored in CS. Just too much of a chance of having an employee in India take my prospective position because of advances in communications technologies and relative lack of skill here compared to our Indian counterparts.
Amounts to religion from the response point of view, because what they believe becomes a part of their reality and self image, and when you question the belief, they take it as a personal attack because it's easier to attack the person attacking the idea than to look again at their beliefs and change their self image and world view to coincide with the new data.
