Mozilla Firefox 0.8 is currently taking up 63 MB of RAM, and that's just a browser with no media players, mail clients, task schedulers, etc.
What kinda crack are you running firefox on? firefox runs at about 19mb of ram... compared to IE's 20mb
I really do hope that they include the hardrive...
It is the only reason i would buy a game console, otherwise you have to pay hundreds of dollars in accessories, and it adds general value to the console.
It would be a typical microsoft move to not incorperate it.
Oh my.. The whole world is eating sodium chloride (NaCl or table salt), its made of sodium which reacts violently with water and explodes and chlorine which is a deadly gas... WE MUST STOP EATING SALT!!!!!... go back to 8th grade physics when two elements combine the resulting compound may have completly differnt properities
I learned assembly at 10, (notice the UserId), and im 14 now and learning 3rd generation languages. Although I would not recomend assembly as a first language, it is a powerful tool to be able to use. First teach the kid some basic computer science (ie boolean algebra, how to use xor and not or to make stuff:), then let him try out a few languages.

Microsoft... beats the Return-on-investment pants off alternitives
Okay lets do the math, Linux cost Zilch, $0, Windows.Net Server is $400-600 right there, if Linux even gets you $0.01 (one cent), the return in the investment is infinitely greater than windows... If Mircorsft gives you $1000 return, thats only ~166%, comparatively to linux's infinite return.
AIM has a Malware bug going arround called BuddyPicture.net, it infects a users profile with a link to BuddyPicture.net which in turn infects the computer using laxed activex settings in internet explorer.
It must be really hard to genetically engineer out of nothing, something... very... common.. Hmm.
The point is not that they have geniticly engineered a common cold, the point is that they have engineered a common cold to only attack cancerous cells.
I learned HTML at 6,
It opened me to a whole new world for me,
HTML led to Javascript led to PHP led to C (now at 15)
Give her the basics of HTML, and she'll do wonders.

Not to troll, but IMO PHP is a rapidly advancing language and a force to be reconcilied with.
500mbits is PLENTY OF BANDWIDTH, slashdot would have a hard time bringing that down.
Lets put this into perspective:
T1-1.5mbps $200 per month
T3-45 mbps
Oc3-155mbps
oc12-622 mbps $20,000 per month
An OC12 gives 1.47 Petabytes of bandwith/time per month
It could very well be that Slashdot it self only has an OC-12.
Hardly Destroyable...
