Thats quite a bit of revisionist history there. Are you a professional spin doctor or is shilling for bush just a hobby?
Also please cite where sadam hussein killed 1.5 million innocent people. I havent read any sources that claim anywhere above a few hundred thousand (and even those numbers I would consider high, from what Ive read about him).
"If you bashed Bush for not stopping 9-11, then you really can't honestly bash him for attacking Iraq"
How does this shit get modded up? OF COURSE YOU CAN! There was no evidence for the war. None. If your an american, you were decieved and are covering up for the liars now (he didnt mean to hit me, he really does care about me!). Its ok, thats one way people cope with being wrong. Everyone whoes not an american however was not brainwashed into thinking anything of the sort. I remember laughing quite hard at the "Double Wide" moble weapons labs, fake anthrax at the un, the aluminium tubes and even his claimed (by usa) ability to put a nuke in a major american city (I believe they indicated he would some how launch a missle that would hit the USA). Yes they tried to scare you, yes you are a sheep and it worked. Get over it and impeach the bastard.
Because if he stopped to actually THINK about it instead of just being standoffish, stubborn and doubtful, he would have realized that 1) SATELLITES are a relatively NEW invention (climate sats doubbly so, ~30 years) and 2) 150 years is a long ass time to keep temperature records and probably corresponds with the invention of thermometers meeting the scientific method (ie scientific weather measurements). Oh and most importantly, he misreads "largest event of its kind in 30 years" as "not since 30 years ago has an event like this occured" which is just lazy. Does it make sense that they only have 30 years of sattellite data? YES! when you actually *think* about the words in the sentance instead of blindly trying to poke holes in it to prove that: "My brain has a pesky habit of continually asking questions. All those X-Files episodes, I guess. Trust no one. Ideologues hate me."
The things that pass for critical thinking now adays... Im sure the poster is just young and egotistical, but still I hate seeing this kind of crap modded up (not that your sig begging the oppressors to stop keeping you down, doesnt inspire a like-minded rant in and of itself).
Did you even watch al gores movie? He has documented evidence of an ice sheet that scientists claimed would take 20 years (or some large amount I forget exactly) to melt, and it ended up melting between 2002 and 2004. They attributed this to the bottom thawing out turning to water, and breaking up/sliding the whole ice sheet into the sea. So thats two years, for a similarly large area (if not larger I really dont remember the exact numbers.). How do you know how fast glacial ice melts? Were you around the last time large portions of ice melted?
They clearly give the amount in KM that fell off. When I read the article a few days ago, I just assumed that they put in the football fields for americans considering that they don't really understand kilometres.
I dont know much about rios, but as I understand it that behaviour is normal. Simply throw rio karma against a desk or other solid object and blamo! fixed!
Yeah. And dont try and do *crazy* things like renaming exsisting playlists in itunes, deleting songs off the player while away from the pc, or expecting the ipod to get recognized by itunes in less than 5 minutes. Seriously, I have no idea why people love itunes so much. It doesnt follow any of the most common windows UI conventions. You can't for example, drag a song onto a playlist and hover over it making the playlist pop up. Infact now that I think of it, I dont think apple knows that hovering over something for 3 seconds is an action. Pretty much everything you do in itunes requires a click of somesort. Really annoying when your used to mouseovering things to get their attention.
"No one's ever going to change things from their living room."
You obviously haven't listened to dr dre's account of his LA riots experience. It begins;
Sittin in my livin room calm and collected Feelin mad, gotta get mine respected
You can't change anything. The best you can hopefore is some sort of revolution to swallow you up and spit you out a hero in your idealized world. This has a very slim possibilty of happening. So I'll be headshotting 14 year olds in the mean time mmmkay?
Thats pretty idealistic don't you think? Have you ever worked with advertising people or companies? Some of the bigger ones have on staff, fulltime psychologists. The most disgusting form of this is CHILD PSYCHOLOGISTS used to market to children. I mean theres your most vulnerable consumer right there. He cant even speak yet but he knows he wants a $500 dora the explorer lil playset and will cry cry cry when he cant have it. When I was young, my parents told me "everything you see on TV advertising is lies." I would come to them after watching infomercials completely brainwashingly convinced that I had scored the deal of a lifetime. It was well into my teenage years before I realized what they were trying to tell me. Its not some advertising thats bad, its ALL advertising. Its all lies, all of it.
They are trying to brainwash you actually. Thats advertising 101. Only they call it "brand recognition". The idea that you will have basically, pavlovian subconcious reactions to certain brands. Advertising causes people to be unhappy, constantly being told to consume to feel better. They do these sorts of psychological manipulations with little or no regard for the societal harm it cuases. If it sells more widgets for xbrand widget co. then they are a success and they go home happy.
"It's how they make money more effeciently, and when done right, it's a service to you too"
Your either an advertising executive or clueless. Does it really make a difference what brand of shampoo I buy? Soap? Razors? Aren't they all, for all intents and purposes, EXACTLY THE SAME? How much effort and resources is society putting into 50 brands of shampoo, and the required advertising to diferentiate them? We have created a whole industry that does nothing except spew out manipulative lies. Then one might say, oh but you dont *CARE* about those things, what about motherboards, shouldnt they be advertised? My answer would be that a good product sells itself. I know ECS motherboards are crap because of 1) experience and 2) reviews. So advertisings goal is to make consumers less educated by not basing purchasing decisions on anything more than lies and manufacturers claims. Does anyone really think being surrounded by LIES told by corporations, virging on 24x7 (eyelid ads ftw), does not have an effect on society? And thats the problem with advertising. It creates a whole culture that bases its buying decisions (a PRIME skill in the western world) on fluff and lies. This furthermore conditions people to accept lies and liars as a normal part of society, honourable people who *believe* in the spirit of what they are saying instead of the factual accuracy (insert jab about masses falling for iraq war here).
Yeah wow with all that proof you've given how could anyone NOT be convinced?
People like you hate chomsky because he has a history of critizing/exposing american foreign policy to the world. Chomsky owns EVERYONE who he debates with. He is a cunning linguist and a maverick political thinker. Stop being so jealous of chomsky ok mr internet troll?
Really? All the youtube clips ive seen have been of wii sports which i understand comes with the console. Do you honestly think people follow game lineups? I wouldnt even know where to begin looking for what games are comming out in the near future. The controller is the difference, and also why most people who havent seen the need to own a console for years (like me), are considering buying one.
I dont know much about console games, but if its anything like computers, I am sure that there will be so many games out for the wii that you couldnt possibly keep track of them all.
"There are idiots on both sides of the aisle. Why would this moron's political alignment be relevant to anyone unless they felt the need to re-enforce their biased opinion of republicans?"
(im re posting this because this "persecution of republicans" seems to be a theme) Its amazing how perspective changes everything. This was posted on numerous websites yesterday with no mention that the guy was a republican. In fact, there was a large debate as to whether it was actually real, or made up by attrition.
Now knowing that it was a republican makes it 1) probably real since I guess he confessed to it and 2) really a whole lot funnier.
"(My point is that it could have been anyone but you can bank on the fact that the media will drool all over this if it's legit, heck--sometimes they don't even do that. BTW I'm an independent.)"

Thunderbirds spam filter is ass. WAY too many false positives. For instance, everyone that responds to your craigslist ad will be flagged as spam. That was a fun thing to find out after weeks of use.
Well obviously you dont do your own work on cars. Ive had various parts of my car removed for various lengths of time (new carpet installation for instance). I would hate to think that just because its not what YOU would choose to do with a car, that it should be illegal, or a sign of guilt when other people do it. Its pretty easy to pull the seats out of a car and there are a bunch of reasons for doing it and not installing it back right away.
I dont know alot about this case but yes i agree with you that he should produce the seat, and cant really see a reason for him not to. The other more likely possibility is that it was a setup. He went down to the parking garage one morning, found his dead ex wife in the seat blugoned to death, and reacted the way any sane person would - by carving up the body and disposing of the evidence.
Exactly. It screams of a setup. Now where was the last time I heard an all to convienient car full of crime books scenario;
"The Mitsubishi sedan sources said was rented by Atta, contained materials written in Arabic, including flight manuals, that law enforcement sources called "helpful" to the investigation."
Just who were the private clients that he licesned software to? The US government perhaps?
Well then you would just use a live cd to copy them over yes?
Quiet you! You'll cause a dot com crash*!

Yeah! I mean if americans had listened to him, they wouldn't have even GONE to iraq. What a dumbass!

Yes, but id rather not have it all centerally located on a CIA server farm with all my browsing habbits and search queries easily cross referenceable.

In 25 years they will determine that googles library is incomplete and start OCR shotgunning books down camera filled canvas chutes.
A brief protest will be launched, but all the kids will be too busy with their new fangled wearables and feelie parks to care.
