You give art and music geeks too little credit. They spend just as much time learning about their passion as computer geeks do learning theirs. To suggest that anyone can talk about art or music to the same degree as those who have spent a long time studying it really belittles the effor that they have put in. As someone with an art degree, I can say that the general public can talk just as much about art as they can about computers. Ask them who Kant was or if they understand the concept of the Platonic Form and they're just as lost as if you were talking about why thread.stop() has been deprecated.
If you load the alternator to drive hydrolysis to generate hydrogen, then you consume more energy (to drive then alternator) than you produce (to generate the hydrogen).
That would depend on whether the hydrogen is being produced or released wouldn't it? Producing energy at more than 100% efficiency is, of course, impossible. Releasing stored energy by adding a small amount of energy to start a reaction, on the other hand, is done all the time. So which is it? Is there latent energy in H20 that is being released by the electrolisis?
This isn't a new concept, either. Alchohol and Water injection have been used for quite some time to add a little extra power / efficiency to an already capable gasoline engine by lowering air charge temperatures or creating a more complete burn. I was seriously considering setting up an alchohol injection system on my car once I got the turbo in, but the project didn't end up going the way I wanted it to... Most notably, water injection was used in the P-51H Mustang.
Not only that, but if your computer is compromized with malicious software it can initiate the conversation. It might not be as easy as just bombarding a routable address, but it's certainly less secure than a connection with a true firewall.
It depends on the software. I know a lot of people still buy older copies of Photoshop because they don't want to pay for features that they've decided they don't need. Personally I don't agree with it, because they're getting stuck behind, but they're saving money.
Either that or any of the big hard drive manufacturers could step up to the challenge with their own R&D lab and beat the others to market with something that pretty much every IT guy would love to see. You're acting like this has to come from some brand new company. Face it; many of the companies that produce computer hardware have grown complacent with their place in the industry. Sure, they all come up with bigger drives every once in a while, but with the amount of money all of these companies bring in, they could stand to take a risk now and then.
People find all sorts of ways to nitpick. Actually, listening to the latest (I think) diggnation podcast Kevin and Alex were talking about how it's wrong in their opinions to sell an open source product. Personally, I think that's a bunch of crap. If you're able to sell something that's freely available in a different form elsewhere, you must have made enough of a difference to make it worth buying.
In the end, just remember you're doing what you can to help the community. If some people want to spit in your face, fine; they aren't going to be benefiting from the work you put out anyway. Another thing to remember is, for some reason, people tend to be most vocal when they're dissatisfied with something. There are probably 20 people who have been happy to every person that complains.
Man, you must really don't know what you're talking about.
I'll second that... One of the reasons that Photoshop is so popular is that there's pretty much no limit to what you can do. Maybe you should take some time to sit down and actually learn the program. Find out what all these tools do and I bet you'll change your attitude a bit. There are very few, if any, tools in photoshop that I haven't found a use for at least once.
I apologize for being OT, but it's worth the karma hit to get the answer...
Does anyone know what tv show this is from? I've seen a couple videos done in the same style. One of the others is called Karate Master and can be found on stupidvideos.com
Vinyl is obsolete? I think Technics, Denon, Stanton, Numark and many of the high end audiophile quality turntable manufacturers would disagree with you pretty quickly on that point. Just because something has moved into a different market doesn't make it obsolete. Vinyl isn't going anywhere for a while, and that's why it's still possible to purchase turntables. How long do you think CDs will stick around, even in a small market? I don't see it being more than 20 years personally... For that reason, I think vinyl will outlive CDs.
I'm not sure about the non-archival prints lasting that long, but that sounds fairly on target for archival prints (Btw, a 2200 can be purchased for much less now). There are also sprays that you can use that will extend the life of your prints. I think www.inkjetart.com has some for sale, but I can't remember. In the end, though, archival prints right now have a good chance at outlasting a regular C-Print. That's pretty good in my eyes.
Don't forget about their system of tracking what movies you're interested in. While I would certainly never pay for such a service without something else attached, it's a very big bonus. It's also one of the reasons I try to get all my friends to get a netflix account because then we can reccomend movies back and forth via the service. This type of integration really helps to sell the service.
At a pint of beer you're not hurting anyone. However, refusal to recognize that alchohol is a mind altering substance is pure foolishness.
I have nothing against having a beer now and then. Actually, I'm very fond of beer and I like to try all the different brews that I can. However, there's a large difference between drinking once in a while and being an alchoholic. To consider alchoholism a tolerable part of one's personality is a frightening mentality indeed.
That's no excuse. This is a freakin' game console. You've got to expect the power supply to be sitting down on a carpet and design around that.

May I suggest this site to you, sir?
Gotta love that 4 (or was it 2? I can't remember...) pin microprocessor.
Damned crossword puzzles... Anyone know a 4 letter word said to inspire laughter?

So... all your pollution are belong to Sony?

Sweet. I was looking for that. Thanks!

For anyone that would like to know, that was written by Martin Niemoeller.

I believe that was a reference to Conkers Bad Fur Day
Honestly, though, how the hell does it make sense to have that under Keychain Access? Sorry, that should have been somewhere else.
Dear god no... Photoshop elements is harder to use than Photoshop because it's just as complicated except they stripped out half the tools.
That's very interesting. I thought Full Sail had a focus on game design.

Just another liquid? How naive...
Your rights become null as soon as you start hurting other people, and whether you see it or not, that's what alchoholics do.
