  1. Sepatate female matches? on Girls in the Gaming World · · Score: 5, Interesting

Are "gamers" that insecure about their masculinity/sexuality/gaming prowess/dick size/pick something else that they're afraid of playing against girls?

My girlfriend loves Mario Kart: Double Dash and it makes me happy it's one of the hobbies we can share.

If playing against girls makes you uncomfortable, don't play games at all!

Toys R Us has a couple of games labelled "Toys R Us EXCLUSIVE!"

You're thinking of Sneakers for the Xbox.

There's definitely a problem if that game is being kept out of the general public's hands. We gamers have to rise up and stop it! This travesty must not go unpunished!

  3. Re:Why is DoA: Beach Vollyball rated "M"? on Game Content Ratings Not Always To Be Trusted? · · Score: 1

Just a wild guess, but I think the M to DOAXBV was a "cover your ass" situation.

The ESRB didn't want to be caught with it's pants down and have an easter egg slip by them with someone's pants being down. And then the shitstorm would begin over why didn't they catch that?

And actually the M rating probably only helped DOAXBV's sales as their people to this day who still believe some type of Nudality code exists in the game.

I think Maximo: Ghosts to Glory balanced this perfectly.

The game was super hard and saving became progressly harder as the game went on. You had to earn Continue Tokens by catching spirirts but every time you continued Death would require more Continue Tokens to let you continue.

And then you could only save in between levels (or choosing full armor) or using your hard earned money to buy game saves (which then couldn't be used on better weapons, armor, or those stylish cowprint boxer shorts).

I've heard Maximo 2 makes the saving and continuing feature a little easier and I'm leery about Capcom ruining one of my favorite games.

That number is still insignificant because of those 1.6 million downloads who's to say how many are used for PS2 burning. You can't.

And then you look at your idea that 1% of PS2 owners are pirates. Pirates, by definition, steal. So if they couldn't pirate, whould they still buy those ten games? Unlikely.

And as you said, the PS2 has a user base of 70 million consoles. That's a lot of games that can be sold. Pirates are insignificant.

You're kidding right? How many people actually do this? Console piracy, console hacking, movie downloads, online console gaming, two words tie them all: Statistically Insignificant.

Ico, Ikaruga and Rez were not failures. They didn't become big hits, but their shipments sold out and just try to find used copies out there now. You'll have a hard time because the people that bought these games love these games and are hanging on to them.

But I will agree with one thing. Ikaruga is fantastic.
