  3. Apple was once ahead of the game with the Mac Mini, but now there's no reason to get it anymore unless you really need OSX for some reason.

    The only reason to get a Mac is macOS, otherwise you're just wasting money.

    Now how about a Mac mini overhaul? The last change was two years ago and it was actually a downgrade from the 2012 models.

    There's something really wrong at Apple for still selling computers in 2016 with 5400RPM hard drives and only 4GB of RAM.

    I don't think an old Dremel 395 qualifies as a 3D printer.

    Unless you meant "subtractive 3D printer", then yes.

    My CNC is connected to a ThinkPad 760XL running MS-DOS with TurboCNC.

    Now get off my lawn.

  9. The only thing I dislike about VLC is that instead of just opening up a file and play it, it adds the file to an unwanted playlist and playlist window. If I then open another file, it gets added to the list instead of opening up another player window.

    In short, I'd like to see VLC work the same way as other media player, i.e. one player window per file. VLC is for video, not an iTunes replacement.

  10. In addition to the updated Apple Watch 2, Apple is expected to update the original Apple Watch with a new SoC to improve CPU and GPU performance.

    I wish they'd do something similar for their computers, given the fact that most of their computers are non-upgradable and it's all soldered on the motherboards now (CPU, GPU and RAM).

  11. All I know is that it's not powered by a Raspberry Pi, it doesn't have a 3D-printed case, it's not an IoT device and it's not OSS nor OpenHardware.
