On the front page, for this article, the tags are actually overlapping with the text. Someone needs to learn how to code CSS properly instead of coding "Web 2.0 hey-look-we-can-move-the-poll-up-and-down" stuff.
Which is also why my Final Fantasy XI box is still running Windows 98SE. It boots in under 12 seconds, the OS doesn't eat 128-256MB and doesn't run services I don't need or want.
The problem is that we don't have the rich intersubjectivity, easy transitions between whiteboard, sketchpad, powerpoint, the subtextual awareness of people's available time/attention, the spontaneous conversations that everybody can listen to with half an ear or close their door to, and so on.
You can do most of these with a webcam-equipped Mac and iChat AFAIK. Welcome to 2005~2006.
But my point still remains, IMO. We shouldn't put complicated technology in the hands of Joe Street.
We shouldn't be moving toward more TLDs, we should be cutting back and removing some of them. I agree with the country-based domains (with the requirement of being located in said country or have offices there, i.e. apple.us, apple.ca, apple.au, etc), anything else doesn't really mean anything anymore (com vs org vs net, i.e. anyone can register any of these, I myself have a.net for my personnal website, it makes no sense but it was still better than.com or.org)
Like when someone posts your domain name on slashdot!
You can't take down a server that's already off-line.
Not really. The rock was a pet rock and it ran away.
You are now "key-less". You may go back to Sto-Vo-Kor.
Forget the special, order the soup!
Anyone knows of a simple way to temporarily slow down your internet connection on Mac OS X?
It would be nice to be able to test various connection speeds for websites. I need to test multiple browsers, so a Firefox plug-in won't do.
More fiber!
According to a test I did myself, Safari on my iPod touch is faster than Opera on my Nintendo DS Lite.
Yeah, that's as pointless as what Sony just did here.
Most PCs would be running an intel or AMD x86-type processor while the PS3 uses a PowerPC.
CPU clock doesn't mean much these days unless you're comparing the exact same CPU clocked at different speeds.
The PS3 is a platform with fixed hardware specifications. Unless they got IE7 running on a PS3, well... what's the point of reference?
As soon as Duck Dodgers negotiates the deal with the queen.

Can someone at slashdot fix the stupid "tags", they're all over the place on the main page. Not everyone uses IE, you know.

Virtual World 2.1?
YouTube link?
You don't know Dr. Hibbert?
Win98SE FTW!
If you add four parts H to your O2 then I'll convert it to waste myself.
Yeah! We get 200$!
Probably. Have you ever seen a doctor not laughing all the way to the bank?
Dude, that makes too much sense. We need a car analogy!
Huh? I-- I don't know that. Auuuuuuuugh!

That's because north of the border it gets converted to 160.9344 kilometers.
Actually it IS everyone's problem if technology is too hard to understand. People don't want to know how all this crap works and they're right.
Also, even if you do understand technology but others don't, it's still your problem (see: SPAM and botnets/Windows PC zombies).
Here is the mandatory car analogy:
I'm not a mechanic yet I can still drive my car.
