Just to explain myself a bit further, the CNN.com polls that seem to be exhibiting this 50/50 split behavior are ones that involve Bush. Obviously other polls sway back and forth, but Bush-related polls tend to fall very closely along party lines.
I imagine that the next election will break down 50/50 along party lines, just as the 2000 elections did. I've noticed that many, many polls on CNN lately have been doing that, which (perhaps irrationally) leads me to believe that the trend will affect the next election as well. It's worrisome enough to make a libertarian like me want to vote democrat the next time around.
Honestly, I'd expect fewer people will be dissappointed with the projection than with the content when the next digitally-projected Star Wars comes out.
Hey, I'm looking forward to the next Star Wars, OK?:^)
A few months ago, you could type "go to hell" in Google's search box, and it would return www.microsoft.com as the first link. You can read more about this here, here and here.

I'm unfamiliar with XP -- does it offer the "live search" capabilities I mentioned, or just the thumbnail browsing? OS X can already do thumbnail browsing, depending on what program edited the image.
I guess at that point, it would be called the iBoxed...:^)

OS X should handle the iPhoto Library folder (where all iPhoto JPEG images are stored) like it handles Application bundles -- instead of showing the directory structure uncut and raw, it should display the photos in an easily-navigable format. The "Live Search" feature could be useful in this regard, as OS X could have a live search folder that contains all iPhoto pictures, or possibly variations like "all photos within the last month" or "all photos within the last year". This would make it easier to peruse one's photo collection, as you wouldn't need to fire up iPhoto every time you just wanted to look at your photos. It would also make it easier to have your rotating Desktop backgrounds show your entire photo collection.
I know that the "all photos in one folder" feature could be accomplished at the command prompt by running "find ~/Pictures/iPhoto\ Library/* -type f -print0 | xargs -0i ln -s {} destination", but it would be nice to have it automatically done for you by the Finder.
According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook, median annual earnings of astronomers were $74,510... I'm still not sure who they interviewed to get these numbers, however. They seem astronomically high for an astronomer's pay:^)
Did we all just run out of mod points simultaneously or something? At the time of this posting, there are 743 comments on the article, while only 3 comments have a score of 3 or above! I smell something very fishy going on here...
Now let's imagine what it would have been like if William Shatner had done this interview...
1) So that 40% number... by Anonymous Coward
...the one where 40% of developers are writing mainly to Linux. Where does that stat come from, and what does "developers" mean? It sounds really nice, but if it were true I as a Linux user would expect to see a lot more apps. Does it come from Sourceforge numbers? Does it come from a poll at a website; maybe a Slashdot, Kuro5hin or Newsforge poll? Is it of *all* developers, or of *paid* developers, or of developers of open-source developers or in-house developers or developers of commercial software? Does it include platform-agnostic developers (ie. Java/ perl/ ASP/ PHP/.NET)? If so, which side does it put them on? Also, what is the error margin of the poll?
I know a bit about statistics, and more about Linux, and something smells fishy. Linux is good, so I figure the numbers are bad.
May I suggest this link? Or even better, just run "sudo perl -MCPAN -eshell" and then type "install Bundle::CPAN" -- that will not only update your copy of the CPAN module, it will download, compile, test and install perl 5.8 for you automatically. Three cheers for perl!
As some have heard, there was a grassroots campaign back in 2000 to elect Steve Jobs as President of the U.S... Perhaps having Gore to the board of directors is bringing this idea one step closer to reality?
Given the history of U.S. government purchasing, I would not be surprised if this became a viable solution to their problems!:^)

This is true -- there are some remnants of 16 bit code in WIndows 9x that Virtual PC doesn't handle well. Because NT/XP/2000 is all 32-bit, everything is easily emulated and runs nicely.

You can bypass the NYTimes registration and read the article here...
That explains the strange bruises I've been getting lately! :^)

So is that why I keep seeing the answer to the JFK conspiracy in my gzipped files?
