In most RPGs, a character that is lost in a battle is lost for good, and so reloading can be painful, frequent, and frustrating.
Has this person even played an RPG in the past ten years?
Chrono Trigger, most all the Final Fantasies, Baldur's Gate (though you can lose characters occasionally) don't permanently kill off your characters. The only way it happens in BG is if you don't resurrect them within a day or some spell auto kills them.
Something else that has been bothering me. The three elements his lists can also be found in FPS. Look at Half-Life. There is certainly a story. There are certainly puzzles involved in getting around. Otherwise, the doors might as well just be open already. Strategy exists in the sense that the player must decide whether to run into oncoming fire or throw a grenade around the corner first. Strategy really is more important in the multiplayer sense. Nonetheless, I think you can apply all 3 game concepts to most every genre.
I've played Risk, Monopoly, and Diplomacy within the past year. It's quite enjoyable if you have nothing to do for a couple hours and have a few people around.
Most people I know who work in the city tend to eat at places within walking distance of the building. They have about an hour to an hour and a half to eat so driving is out unless they want to eat fast food, which causes its own blend of problems. Since they are in the city, there are a wide variety of options so they don't eat the same thing everyday.
Segway doesn't fix the problem of parking it. I doubt most food places would let you bring it in. So you have to find somewhere to put it. Yes, you may be able to get across town faster, but if you have no place to put it, then what good does it do you. Last I checked, you don't have to find anywhere to put your shoes when you go somewhere.
I'm more than willing to listen to the benfits but I still don't have to agree with them.
Has humanity become so lazy as to stop wanting to walk to places? We have legs for a reason. Let's try to use them. But I want to get around faster... Try running. I don't think anyone said that, I was making fun of a generic, lazy segway user.
Cars help us get around for moderate to long trips. I don't think there are many people who yell ROADTRIP and jump on segways to go to Mexico or Canada. I understand that the segway is only for short trips. We also have bicycles and feet. They both allow you to use energy to get somewhere. Eventually, humanity will become fat from using segway. Hell, we already have problems in America with people staying in shape. Let's try to fix that problem first before we commit to the segway.
16 inch calves? First hallway, 5th door on the right. God help us all.
If this also has that damned compatability, there's less of a chance I would get it. It's just a stupid scheme for people to buy their handheld too. Since I 'm in college, I don't have money to throw around. Focus on the GAMES Nintendo instead of finding ways to sell more systems from them.
I think it was originally planned to be a PC release. The XBOX just happens to be a bulky, underpowered computer so it takes nothing to put it on XBOX. Now I always come down hard on XBOX only because I know only one person who has it for "cutting-edge" games. Everyone else I know that has it has hacked it and runs roms, pirated movies, etc on them. Sorry, but I have a PC that can do all those things. I don't feel the need to fork over more money for something I would use for the same reasons.
Buy both. When I'm faced with an important decision with two options I like, I just pick both and hope it isn't a huge mistake. If it is a huge mistake and I get yelled at, I blame the yeller for letting me make such a stupid decision. And if I pick both where someone else makes the decision for only one, I win either way. So always go with both and hope for the best.
Hey, thats ok that XBOX got it first. It's one of the few games it will get before the PC release. It just means that the PC version will be more awesome.
Amen Amen.... Out of state college students like me could use a little more $$ on the side so if you have it on XBOX and wanna buy it on PC, send it to me.:)
You spelled Demondo wrong there ace. I really can't argue your opinion though as I am new to slashdot. But, suppose that the Saudi government released a copy of Linux. It would have to be utterly amazing for people to buy it as much of Linux is free. So, I don't think you have to worry about that.
As for voting against Dean, his goal is to try to get the "poor, Confederate flag on the front of their truck" Southerner to vote for the Democrats. FUCK YOU DEAN!!! I'm from the South and I'm a well educated college student working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I'm not some poor, racist man who doesn't know what's best for him. The Confederate flag represents HISTORY for many people. If the American people can not move past that, then we need to reevaluate our current situation.
I've never seen MMORPGs to really be any fun at all. I played Asheron's Call for about a year and a half but have not much to show for it. I played Dark Age of Camelot beta and played for 3 monthes and quit finally after the class I was playing never got finished. I played Asheron's Call 2 beta for a while, I was fun but pretty vague on help people get places. I even beta tested Shadowbane, which I thought would meet all my hopes in a MMORPG. Again, I was let down. Poor graphics and gameplay ruined any shot at it.
But, I have found a game that I love. Savage: Battle for Newerth is an amazing game. It mixes FPS and RTS to make for a great game. It's all online and it costs all NOTHING to keep playing after you buy it. They even have a demo were you can play 2 levels with the humans as much as you want.
Yea, it's pretty cool to beat it that fast but I'm sure there's other stuff that you could do that would be better with all that time working towards the speed goal. I'm not bashing the accomplishment but I think all that work would take fun out of the game.

dang, another loss for me....
It could easily be part of his sig. It could have 2 lines. Man, I hope I'm not wrong cause I'll feel really, really dumb.
I think that it's their sig. I kinda of looks like it but I could always be wrong. Hence my sig.
Hey!!! I only use half power..... Geez....
It told me page does not exist. Looks bad if they've taken you down after you did almost all the work.
Where's your article? I looked around and couldn't find it.

Where can I sign up to do one of those? To hell with Aerospace Engineering classes.... These pay more and have probably a more secure job market.
