I don't see it as a turn as much as I do an increase in velocity along the same path we have been on since the formation of the planet. We just do everything faster now, not really any differently.
We wouldn't need any land mass at all if we made giant algae pools on the surface of the oceans to make bio-diesel, which is a much more viable alternative anyway, with the minimal needed changes in the infrastructure that's already in place.
What, you're not taking them with you? That would be like leaving them in a burning house. Do like Jor-El, build a rocket and send them to a safe place.
is starting to look a little less "universal" with every change. It's bad enough that you need a different cable for your camera, printer, hard drive, etc. Why can't we just use RJ11?
You couldn't possibly be more wrong. Voting against bad legislation is the only way possible to keep it off the books. Kucinich had the guts to do it every time. I'm very surprised the party hasn't tried to get him out of congress entirely. Goes to show that the people have the power to get their way despite what big money tries to do. Of course it is worth noting that his power in congress remains quite limited.
The problem was that with the President and Vice President coming from opposite parties, they tended to have opposing viewpoints...
Today's winners from either side no longer have significant opposing viewpoints, and there is no opposite party...that comes close to winning anyway. All opposing viewpoints are now considered the loony fringe, and most people now believe that is actually the case. This is why you may as well put Clinton and McCain on the same ticket. They actually think and act very much alike, and basically represent the same people. And most people continue to whine about about not having any choice because they won't seek them out and vote for them. During the primary season we do have a choice, but the mass media will do what it can to distract the voters away from the alternatives, like the way Kucinich was cut from the debates and Paul from some FOX forum, and it works like a charm. Can't argue with success. May the best money win.
The only candidate who has a grasp of economics....
No, He's not the only one, by a long shot. And as for your other points, Kucinich has him beat, also. He was the ONLY candidate there to vote against the patriot act both times. Paul abstained from one. Obama voted for the other. And the rest? There they were, voting for almost everything the president wanted. Not to worry. Neither Paul nor Kucinich have a snowball's chance. The well oiled machine shall thunder on, and we'll get four more years of Nixon/Agnew.
As always, you(editorial) never carry the thought through that if a work can be so easily copied, the person copying it won't get very far trying to sell it. Only exclusivity of distribution goes up in smoke, as it should. All the available profits for a creator are still there... in the work itself. If somebody wants more of your work, be sure to get paid before releasing to anyone.
Though they do not always prosecute, the law gives them probable cause to knock your door down if they wish. Pretty "neat" how they create these laws specifically designed to make an end run around one's rights. It's using civil law to permit harassment and confiscation of personal property by the authorities, similar to the real intention of RICO laws where property can be taken even if the owner committed no crime.
The guys that cut Kucinich out of the debate. Surely to prevent any "information overload" that might divert public attention away from the front runners of their choosing. All before the very first primary. I would hope that there will be noise about that on the social sites.
If that's the case, it'll only be because of their rarity...
It should be because of their proven durability and low maintenance requirements. In its present state, digital doesn't even compare in that department. Clinging to the past may turn out to be very useful in this case.
Sounds more like cut corner system, or cost cutting system, trying to make the thing as cheaply as possible. I would think that anything less than absolute, complete, utter separation is unacceptable. Even the power should be more isolated than it is. I hope the FAA agrees. This is not the place to pinch pennies.
...just might, prompt a re-evaluation of the entire system.
And to prevent any chance of that happening, there will be a quick "settlement". This is why you are seeing a softening of the music industry over DRM. It's starting to provoke a relatively large number of people. Re-evaluation could bring about the "final solution", something that is desperately needed, but not about to happen in the case of all IP law. Man, attacking Solitaire! How could they? It's the only reason to have a computer. You can use a typewriter and an adding machine for all the important stuff.
If I say to someone, "you're a fucked-up little man,"...
If you said it while looking at the mirror, it would be a good sign of recognition. You will have completed your first step. It's okay, pudgie. We're here to help. Let it out. Now, seriously, I have to go take my nap. Catch ya on the flipside.
The government can't permit any kind of balance of power between it and the citizens. It's trying to protect its scandals from being exposed. And in this post 9/11 hysteria, it should be a pretty easy pull.

My poor, poor children...

for all the times the damn airliners opened and closed our garage door when they flew over the house.

They may as well run a McCain/Clinton vs. Clinton/McCain ticket in the general election.
Who is going to pay for the resources needed...?
You, the customer, who else?

Obviously those people have never been to Hawai`i, or Iceland.

Nobody for President
I want to say 'ruling party,' but I'm not sure that's entirely correct...
It is
