    Congress' approval rating is a meaningless metric.

    The reality is that their approval rating is 99%. All the way up to the prez. That's what the only poll that means anything says.

    Torture is such a "strong" word. I prefer the term "stress". It works on plants(including the smokable ones), too. It makes them produce more of their vital juices which provide their flavor give them their punch. And you're more likely to get a confession.

    I just described what many of the 50's, 60's and 70's bands did to get their names out, before the RIAA put a stranglehold on it all.

    Say whaaat? That stranglehold goes back to Thomas Edison and RCA. That stranglehold goes back to when the writers guilds were trying to outlaw the printing press.

    Is this not exactly the same thing as what Yahoo! is being lambasted for, except Yahoo! was *following* the law, and AT&T (and others) were *breaking* it?

    It's quite simple really. If you're "with us", you're not breaking the law(when the president does it, it's not illegal). If you're "against us", you are.

    I never remotely thought or expressed any such thing.

    Damn! I was going to quote a few jewels from that journal, but there's just too many. I'll leave it up to the readers if they're interested. For now a tiny sample: The second is that there is a HUGE waiting list for organs, and the LAST people they should go to are people who are criminals. (screw it. I was going to make a link, but you know where it is).

    Anyway, yes, because we all know that everybody in prison is a criminal.

    And I am saying prison inmates is a similarly poor use, and that it should be a disqualification.

    Hmmm, any such thing, eh? Sure thing, pudgie. Hey! make it easy on yourself. Anytime a prisoner would die without a transplant, release him. Immediately. See? You're off the hook. He'll be dead soon enough and will no longer be a danger. The fact is, my goofy little friend, if the government holds a person against his/her will, it is responsible for their welfare. And that's that!

    But I don't see how mass mining of the moon would have a visual effect on the moon's appearance for a very very long time.

    I guess we shouldn't expect Best Buy to hire bosses who now how to work a sting. They were pretty dumb to confront him instead of having the cops waiting in front of his house when he tries it again. I would think that would provide plenty of probable cause to go in and collect the rest of the stuff. But then why should the managers care? They're a bunch of nobodies also, and could be doing the same thing. Which segues to my second thought, be careful of who you snitch on. It can just as easily put you into a bad position.
