Since Google puts the videos up for not only download, but purchase as well, there may be legalities holding them back from letting the world see it just yet.
Should we be surprised? It sure seems like a lot of big companies are having irrational knee-jerk reactions to a lot of things lately...
I can see why they wouldn't be happy, but to "angrily" rescind a charitable offer to a pretty beaten up city that needs anything it can get? Sounds like a bad PR event for BellSouth.
The music industry could profit immensely from using BT as a distribution source. Say I want to buy and download a movie for $10. Now, if we're using Bit Torrent, and I upload the whole movie to 10 other people, the movie industry could institute a "payback" plan for saving their bw by using mine. They could credit me say $1 for each complete movie I upload back. That would be a HUGE incentive to not only buy what the industry is putting out, but also to be a part of it.
Whoever modded parent -1 for Troll is an idiot... Parent clearly wasn't stirring anything up, and moderating people -1 because you disagree with them is stupid.
You're missing the point. The idea of the TV and Movie industries is that you WON'T be able to tape anything without a proper broadcast flag... So your current devices won't be able to decode the signals, effectively making them useless.
"And BTW if caught trading illegal Nazi materials in Germany, there no fine or jail time, you are just forced to stop it."
Ehh....how exactly are you "forced" to stop it if you aren't fined or jailed?
You're forgetting about college students. At my university, engineering majors are REQUIRED to have a laptop. So instead of buying a laptop and a desktop, save a few bucks and combine em.
I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager. Does a few things more than just copy images but seems to work with copying XP (at least I haven't had any problems). Granted, I'm only a home user, but maybe this could work for you.
I'm glad I'm not the only one whose English parser got hung up on that...
C'mon, no one's mentioned automatic turrets above every engine? I would pay money to have a window seat if turrets were installed...
You must be new here... :)
In related news, the violent videogame law was last seen walking away from the courthouse saying "I'll be back!"
Why are the trolls out in force here? Oh, Microsoft... Nevermind...
Obviously it couldn't have been a Windows firewall...
Wow. I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Did anyone see this coming?
"The requested URL was not found on this server." And here I was hoping I could subscribe to your newsletter...
Haha, you incurred the wrath of the mods you insensitive clod!
I have to agree. Seems stupid for a story like this to get on the main page. This isn't news and it certainly doesn't matter...
Someone didn't read the summary... :)
I'm glad you called it a "Colossus Boner" instead of a...
Wait a minute...
News? No. Stuff that COULD matter? No. So why did this make the cut?

RTFA. That is all.
I think I speak for the majority of /.'ers when I say: ...
Hmm. Methinks we should *bonk* Zonk for going with this story...
Where's the holy trinity? Or is that just a sensationalist headline again?
Doh!
