    About division by zero: you can divide by zero, sort of, if you are dealing only with non-negative or non-positive numbers. Then the limit as x goes to 0 of 1/x is plus infinity or minus infinity, respectively. The limit does not exist if x is alowed to be both positive and negative.

    Then if it does, what? Sue god? It's a naturally occuring virus, a green, eco-friendly, tree-hugging cure. Also, how much worse can you get than DEAD?

    OK, I suppose they are arguing against helping specific competitors vs encumbering the company such that it cannot provent competition (without chilling their ability to compete?). That almost makes sense, but we have to keep in mind that specific competitors were harmed. And since when is microsoft a "dominant" company, with the quotes?

    Looks like suing microsoft is the new fad. Too bad much of Europe sued through the EU instead of individual countries. How long before all the other countries start suing microsoft? Much pain for microsoft, and thay can't just say screw you, use linux to a country. Pretty sweet, this precedent stuff.

    Would people quit saying that miro$oft will just give away money? To people who sued them, what's more. FYI, MS reduced the fine to 1/10 the original, and will appeal. Yes, $32M is a drop in the bucket for MS, but there are only so many drops in the bucket.

    I seriously doubt that genetic disorders that affect males have anything to do with sexual orientation. Most or all of these genes are related to the X chromosome (women with backup X are unaffected, but carriers) or the Y chromosome.

    On that note, does anyone know how well or if the ancient Jewish "cure" for homosexuality worked? How many homosexuals are of Jewish descent? I'm pretty sure they cured hemophilia with circumsicion.

    Hm, can we count genes for health and longeivity as genes for intelligence? Because, you know, dead people have an IQ of 0 :-). I think that one of your questions is answered by EQ, the emotional/social version of IQ.

    Various genetic disorders can be carried by females, but only manifest in males. I guess we have this to compensate. I wonder how many other positive genes manifest only in males?

    No, you don't realize that you *are* affected by ads. Especially by ones that are about products you might be interested, and moreso if you don't know the field. People preffer things they are familiar with, so ads in your field of expertise would have dramatically less effect, unless it is a new product, then if it is a good product you will research and buy it.

    That said, I am somewhat for targetted ads, but strongly against new places for ads. And $2000 per person? That's rediculous. Perhaps we should set up a page for researching products to help replace ads?

    Hmm. I think it is fair to say that if we evolved, then we are designed for having survinging offspring. Then it might be argued that such is our purpose in life, and that we should base our morality on that. Or, better, that we *do* base our morality on that. Not to forget that it is advantageous to generally help others, as they share some genetic code with you, in order of self, parents & children, 2 generations removed, tribe, clan, nation, species, class, etc., so being unilaterally selfish is not good. Of course religion has had thousands of years to think this stuff through.

    PS: You can't fit evolution, the statement 'god created man', and Occam's Razor together no matter what God's representative to Earth says.

    Good idea. While we're at it, might as well get rid of the Linux, Google, YRO, Apple, etc sections, since anyone with half a brain doesn't require flags to tell what the subject is about.

    Do you know every product in existance? Of course not! Would you rather have targeted advertisement, so you are shown things that interest you, or be shown every stupid thing under the sun? Yes, targeted andvertisement is good for the advertiser -- that doesn't automatically make it bad for you.
