You simply lack imagination. You do realize that ALL genes existing in ALL species randomly mutated at one point or another, don't you? You're denying something that has ALREADY actually happened, unless you are YEC.
What are you claiming? That if food is not genetically modified it is not safe to eat? When the fuck were you born?
He's probably talking about things like "organically" spreading "organic fertilizer," i.e., "shit," on the produce that is then sold to the consumer to eat. Unfortunately, even 100% organic non-GMO antibiotics-free shit can make you sick enough to die.
Actually, the correct solution is to avoid Yes/No questions, e.g., "You are exiting the document but have unsaved changes. What do you want to do? Save and Close / Close without saving / Cancel"
I don't have the 1928 actuarial tables at my fingertips, but I'd estimate pretty low given life expectency and lifetime earnings of your average manual laborer at the time.
You can buy a Falcon 9 launch now for that price, so if it is not correct, the company will go out of business soon. Falcon Heavy is an extension of the Falcon 9, and those costs are what the company itself is projecting.
"Mature" doesn't mean "competitive," it means "fairly well explored." In other words, it's unlikely that there are many huge breakthroughs left in silicon semiconductors. Just incremental improvements.
Hmmm, I doubt that. The Congressional appropriation for the entire Boulder Canyon project, including the Hoover AND Imperial dams, AND the All-American canal, was $165,000,000 in 1928. That's about 2.1 billion in modern dollars. BUT the Hoover Dam generated 1345 MW once brought fully on-line (with later updates its over 2000, but those costs are not included in the original appropriation.) So it's 2.1G$/1345 vs. 737M$/110, or $1.56/Watt vs. $6.70/Watt. That means that the Hoover Dam project, even disregarding the flood control and irrigation works associated with it, was far cheaper per watt of generating capacity. Given that the average home back then consumed considerably less electricity, I'd guess it was an entire order of magnitude less expensive "per home."
You've got it wrong. Establishing an orbit is not about distance from the surface, it is about velocity. You could orbit the planet at 1 meter above ground, if it was round enough and airless - you'd just have to get enough velocity. Going "straight up" will do you no good at all without the velocity, because you're just going to fall "straight down" again. Watch a shuttle launch or a rocket launch - after a short time they roll over and point sideways, because they need to gain velocity. They don't go straight up either.
Actually, engine governors are installed on vehicles to prevent them from exceeding the speed at which they can be safely controlled, for liability reasons. It has nothing to do with speeding.
What the fuck is that supposed to mean? The debate is not over whether wearing a seat belt is good or bad for you. It is over whether a man with a gun can force you to wear it against your will.
Dude, you shouldn't need a LAW to tell you to keep right. That's just basic common fucking courtesy. Do you also piss on the toilet seats because there isn't a law against it? This is your theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrgpZ0fUixs
even if you don't understand or don't care, you have to respect someone with guts and drive to do something they feel strongly about.
Yeah, really? Do you "respect" neo-nazis and the Fred Phelps church too?

How many movies have you seen starting with Tomatoes from Joe's garden evolved into man eating super tomatoes ? None, ZERO.
You seriously have never heard of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes?
Selective breeding cannot create traits that do not already exist in the gene stock.
In a world where mutation does not exist, that would be true.
We, however, do not live in that world.
Therefore, you are wrong.

I don't think you know what a security model is.
Has NASA tried counting backwards from five?
That's kind of like saying that training wheels are bicycle add-ons because the bike itself doesn't provide enough balance.
True, for some users.
Windows Imaging Component Adding additional codecs is really not that hard.
But we already have a new format that does all that, it's called JPEG XR.
It's far more concrete a projection, because many of the Falcon Heavy components actually have flown.

Falcon 9 has it down to about $4700 already, Falcon Heavy will likely have it close to $1k.

Praise the Ford.

No, but you don't need administrative privileges to set the hidden flag on the user's own files.
