Strangely, I believe the child bomber and soldier is used wherever people have little to no other recourse. For instance, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and the Vietcong all used child soldiers and bombers because they simply didn't have any other choice except losing what they thought was worth dying for.
Those that have been so abhorrantly treated by "dominant" cultures that they are relegated to any attack of opportunity they can muster? Are those the ones you mean?
Just an FYI should something like this ever happen, upon the first contact from the debt collector you have to request a validation of debt (which includes the exact amount of debt, and the signed contract between you and the biller). They have to comply. During the time it takes for them to supply this, they are forbidden to contact you. If they do, take note of the exact time and date that the contact occurs. Each occurrence of a breech is punishable by up to 1000$ in fines.
Why is she a victim? I'm pretty sure the company she owes money is the victim. She disregarded her obligation, and did so with enough consistency that the company had to forfeit a substantial percentage of what they were owed to hire a collection agency. She breached a contract, and by doing so cost the company money. So, how explain to me again how she is a victim?
Again, speaking from my own experience a few phone calls/faxes of proof of payment has fixed any issues I've encountered. (1) can be provided if you present a utility bill for your current location, and if they call more than 3x in one month you can press charges for harassment. (2,3,4) can be solved by providing proof of payment, and if the issue is pressed, I send them a copy of my proof of payment and an invoice for my contractor hours based on the time they waste, as well as a notice that they will be sent to collections if they continue to waste my time. (5) Scams nothing will protect you from, even the law. Its not a perfect solution, but these have worked for myself and my family. Harder to avoid was when a prior inhabitant at my address had a warrant out for his arrest; sheriffs don't accept proof of payment:)
I wasn't actually deriding menial labor, I've spent my time there as well:) I was using it as a simple job that can be gotten with pretty much no effort to bring in some income until a more suitable situation can be found.
Seriously. Pay your bills, and then you don't have to worry about this. Simple concept. If you don't have a reliable stream of income, don't incur debt. I understand there are situations outside of your control, however most places won't send you to collections if you pick up a McJob or two and pay SOMETHING to them until your situation evens out (speaking as someone with a fair amount of debt for his age, despite a few jobless stints, who has never once missed a bill payment).
I know certain other religions place a very high premium on body in-tact-ness as well. Rastafarians for example have an extremely powerful devotion to keeping the body whole - to the point of refusing life-saving surgery that would excise a necrotic limb. Its a major contributor to the death of how Bob Marley died.
Fuel was about $4.02/gal (about a dollar more than automotive gas atm), and with a Cessna 172 the fuel tank holds around 50 gallons. I think the range you'd get out of the gas would be a bit better, and you also would be able to split the cost between other (ungroped) passengers. Not the poor man's option obviously, but reasonably doable for most income brackets above college student/burger flipper with a budget.
So far as I know that hasn't been tested by the courts. You can't consent away certain rights. For instance, a wife can't sign a contract to let her husband rape her every night. It'd be considered an unconscionable contact and therefore unenforceable. Likewise, you can't form a contract with someone asking them to kill you; it'd be considered unconscionable, and they'd get charged with murder. Most things which would otherwise be crimes without consent fall into this category. It'd be interesting to see how it WOULD play out in a courtroom.
A family friend actually used to travel by riding with commercial ships. Wish i knew how the heck she did it, but usually when she goes overseas she contacts freight companies and sees which ships are travelling, and then handles everything that way. Basically she stays the hell out of the way and gets to travel for super cheap in sub par conditions (not a lot of critter comforts). Still gets you from point a to point b though.
Not really, I took my introductory flight this past weekend. Its approximately $8000 out of a small airfield for 60 hours of flight training, ground school, and FAA testing, up to a max of about $10,000. Rental is a little expensive ($119 an hour, plus fuel) but a lot of airports offer taxi craft you can use for one way flights, they'll just subject you to a tie down fee at the destination (at least the airport here does, but that's with partner airports so YMMV).
Actually I'm pretty sure 99.9% of it was done by an incumbent with no chance to vote by the American populace. There were protests as well, but more people were focused on the fact that we were about to enter a war with no valid casus belli. So, no, not really. While I agree if the entire population had shown up on the doors of Washington DC they wouldn't have had the balls to do it, the the chance of that ever happening is slim to nil.
Its hard to prosecute people who've got a bullet between their eyes or who've been shipped to holding cells in US-allied countries where there's no such thing as habeas corpus. Just saying - many issues of national security don't get dealt with in the 'traditional way.' I feel the TSA is run as stupidly as could be, but to some extent I hope its a clever rouse to seem idiotic when they're anything but. It wouldn't be hard for people to be questioned, and then picked up and tossed onto a torture taxi via JANET (Just-Another-Non-Existant-Terminal).
Now that's a fun line of thought; would the arguments for/against piracy and copying be changed when people could literally create physical items from pirated material? "Oh, where did you get that sculpture x building? Oh, off of some bittorrent. Isn't it keen?" I suppose we can create CD's with illegally copied music, but I somehow feel it would be interpreted differently.
At a certain point natural selection takes place. The chinese will end up being the human version of the cockroach - perfectly adapted for the most harsh chemical/polluted conditions imaginable.
Just curious, have they exhausted all of their software avenues for this? While yes, I understand they have a huge relational DB, I know other companies that are just as big/bigger and the have next to no issues. Maybe its just poorly designed? That's a hell of a lot of (albiet super sexy) hardware to throw at what could be a software problem. Thoughts?
I think there's also the fact that your best IT personnel tend to be a tad rogue-ish, especially in the security sector. We like being in control. That doesn't mesh well with having people bark orders at you all day. Further, you're not talking about an industry where its members are known for their physical prowess or lack of drug use.

But extremely visible. And extremely profitable for leaders who are willing to exploit it for power gains.

Why exactly was my post marked as trolling? Would this persons situation NOT have been prevented by not simply paying their bills?

You probably weren't their friend because of their clothes or home
Obviously you've never been exposed to a materialistic society. :)

TSA and DHS are both present at most train stations. They just are less obvious.

61% of Americans need to be cockpunched. Thoroughly.
I believe you are referring to hitting someone with a rooster, otherwise half of the population would not be covered by your opinion.

Yes they do, however they A) belong to Afghanistan, and are B) extremely difficult to get to.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
