So if they shut down the registrar, wouldn't that invalidate all domains currently registered through them? I'm assuming some of those belong to legitimate non-spammers....
Great, let's pass a law allowing any New Zealander politician/diplomat visiting a U.S. territory to be held indefinitely for the purposes of prisoner exchange.
There was an item on the radio in the news today that the Gitmo prisoners are suffering from TSS and show evidence of torture. When will Americans wake up and demand accountability? Like excellence, mediocrity and criminality come from the top.
Maybe when Americans realize that just because someone isn't an American doesn't mean they're not deserving human rights?
A friend of mine works for a firm that got blacklisted in error once. The security company that maintained the blacklist (forget which one) tried to charge them thousands of dollars to be removed!
Is that like an online casino which gets DDOS'd "in error" and then has to pay thousands for the attacks to stop? This "security" business sounds quite lucrative.
he problem is that when you "use" hydrogen to create electricity, the hydrogen recombines with oxygen to become water once again. So let me use some fictional numbers here to demonstrate why your suggestion is impossible:
1. Assume it takes 1 joule of energy to split a water molecule. 2. Assume you get back 2 joules of energy when you "use" the hydrogen. 3. You now have the same water molecule you started with, and a surplus of 1 joule of energy.
According to the summary, it uses electrons from the split, meaning there hydrogen would probably not be able to combine with the oxygen again.
So, um, how do you find out they're terrorists without, oh, I don't know, a free trial? Wait, I forgot, our military intelligence never makes mistakes. Anyway we can use them to replace the court system within our borders to avoid innocent people from being convicted?
In simple terms, quantum particles completely allow FTL comms. All you need to do is build two radios or terminals or whatever and get them talking via said particles.
That sounds a lot simpler than it really is. The only way I can see to do it is to shoot entangled particles from point A to points B and C, and when someone at B tampers with it's particles, C sees the diffusion pattern disappear instantaneously (or even faster, if B is farther from A than C is.... which means communicating with the past:))
In theory.
From what I hear, most scientists believe it's impossible to use entanglement for FTL communication.
No, it won't be. Have you looked at the front page of DailyKos lately? Any minute amount of goodwill they get from disaffected Hillary supporters will be vastly outweighed by the posters who will treat shills competing for McCain's favor as complete jokes, if not with outright hatred....
I'm guessing you only read the first sentence or two of the very link you've provided?
The Act generally prohibits "cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment" of detainees by any person, but only military interrogators are restrained to the specific guidelines of the Army's Field Manual on interrogation -- the Central Intelligence Agency was not. In an effort to close this loophole, Congress passed legislation to similarly constrain the CIA to the Field Manual's techniques. [5] McCain voted against this bill and recommended that President Bush follow through on his threat to veto it, arguing that the CIA already could not engage in torture but should have more options than afforded military interrogators. [6] The bill did not pass with sufficient votes to override an executive veto.

Love the Zork one :)
Oh, I'm sure our forthcoming Singularity Overlords can come up with something better than fusion.
I can see that. I remember that Man Show episode where an overwhelming majority of women signed the petition to ban Women's Suffrage.

What next? NOT demolishing a condo complex in Miami because an FBI informant said a mafia boss might be somewhere inside?
What war are we talking about? We haven't declared war on anyone in a long time. Except drugs I guess.
I don't think that's any scarier than the average bully/thug becoming my local police.
Oh please, since when has logic had anything to do with reality?
What do they have against the Frankfurt International Airport?
It's all preparation for the formation of the three great superpowers of the future - Oceania, Eastasia, and Eurasia.
No, it's more like:
Phase 1) Bloody revolution.
Phase 2) Ruthless dictatorship.
Phase 3) ???
Phase 4) Communist Utopia
Problem is, not only does no one know what Phase 3 is, but the people in charge of Phase 2 have no interest of finding out.

If we're going to act like our country is the greatest and free-est in the world, we better start making it that way damn soon.
Haven't you heard? Freedom is a scarce resource. There's not enough of it to go around, so if you want it you gotta take it from someone else.
So basically today's court finally decided that "separate but equal" does not work?
The US has become the monster in the night that people fear.
We are Legend.

In theory, wormholes allow FTL communication.
Different theories.
Would you say the same thing if this was a gay rights case and the judge had "Jesus hates fags" posters in his flat?
Over 100,000 people die of various causes every day. Does that mean we should only worry about disasters with death tolls in the millions?

Your point? They're not the ones McCain is after.
