Have Congress pass legislation to make it harder to become an American citizen. Have Congress pass legislation to make it easier to remove citizenship from an American. Both of those would be considered due process of law.
Apple wanted Google to add turn by turn navigation to the Maps app. Google wanted to the terms of the contract between them renegotiated since the original didn't include turn by turn navigation, even though Google had added it to their own Maps app in Android. Apple wanted new functionality added under the terms of the old contract, and Google wasn't willing.

OP clearly doesn't know what ASCAP is, and is so very clearly talking out his/her ass. Venue owners pay ASCAP for the right to perform copyrighted works in their venue (radio, jukebox, cover band, etc. it's all the same).
I would not be surprised to find out, because there are many of them, that this "border" checkpoint was nowhere near a border. Most people not aware of its location would not be expecting a border checkpoint since there is no border in the vicinity. Surprise!

The ridiculous amount of tax dollars has already been spent. We've already paid for fiber to the door, we just haven't gotten it. Those that have gotten it are paying more and getting less than the telcos promised we'd get.
No. It's an Apple iPhone, I knew this when I bought it. I no further expect to see Android apps in the App Store than I expect to see ones for Nokia phones.

I believe that the above thinking is what leads to this problem, with the tech only making it easier to accomplish. Rescues are for emergencies and spraining your ankle is not an emergency (nor is your water supply tasting salty). If you sprain your ankle, you grab a stick, make it a crutch and hop/limp/hobble your pansy ass out of the forest.

ASCAP covers licensing in bars/venues, and yes I believe it's the same rather you're playing a jukebox/radio or live bands.
