    Of course, now they are putting more computers in each car, and then embedding the VIN of the car in the code running each CPU, to make it that much harder to replace said computers when they fail.

    And I can't believe people are stupid enough to pay for a internet connection for the vehicle, just so they don't have to deal with their children, but also giving the manufacturer valuable information about them and how they use their vehicle, which is sold, will be used against them if they get in any sort of accident, and the cars systems will be able to be remotely altered. And please ignore the terrible track record the car companies have with keeping their systems safe. And the manufacturer partnering with a software maker like Google or Microsoft certainly won't result in code that will be hack-proof.

  7. I am willing to travel anywhere and punch anybody who brings up "brand differentiation" in a discussion of UI. The idea that you will artificially make your UI less useful, just so the user will "know" which app they are using is beyond stupid.

    It is higher than "make it work the same for all platforms, regardless of each platforms UI conventions" on the scale of 0 to mind-numbing stupidity.

    I don't think it makes a difference. Generally, most people singing any karaoke songs, properly licensed or not, violates basic decency.

    So, you are saying that you are unemployed? Or only use a phone that you've stolen? Or your salary is very unstable month to month so you can't afford a monthly carrier bill?

    Because carriers have offered iPhones for as little as $0 with a contract. And then there is getting a used iPhone from someone upgrading to the latest one.

  13. But pretty much everybody with wheeled luggage just uses it to transport guns and bombs. It's pretty much the reason why wheeled luggage was invented.

    Sure, you might find the rare person who would store person items like notebooks, laptops, cameras, but these people probably account for only 1-2% of all users of wheeled luggage.

    No, a bunch of us were aware of it WAY before snowden. Of course, we were tagged with labels like "crackpot", "crazy", "delusional".

    -just scribble for 3-4" on the paper, using a felt marker, making no attempt to actually move in the shape of any known letter
    -wet tip of finger
    -rub the scribble for several seconds

    At least other sites aren't mindless sheep pumping "ride-sharing", but rather using terms like e-hailing instead.

    Because the primary usages of Uber is not what a normal person would call "ride-sharing". And yes, I know about the recently launched, I don't know what to call it "sideline" that Uber announced/started which actually would be what a normal person would call 'ride-sharing', which is basically carpooling with Uber taking a cut.
