if you watch a tv news program (most of whichis junk anyways) you dont have time to think about what you've seen and the opinions you have heard, so often one will accept it, when you read something in the newspaper or in a book you can stop and think about it, and formulate your own opinion in the matter.
i'm the same way, for me tv mainly consists of idiots being obnoxious and professing their stupidity and commercials that make me question the future of the human race, kind of like slashdot. i'd take broadband over tv anyday
There is no chroot() in Windows, to the best of my knowledge
one can change the enviornment variables in windows, not recomended but can easily be accomplished. For windows xp, go to system properties > advanced > enviornment variables. then you can change among others, the tmp and windows directories.

big brother is watching you. remember, if you see anyone who even remotly looks like they could dare oppose the party, immediatly report them to your district thought police manager.
well im all for peace love and happiness, but i serisouly have no clue how that could remain profitable, unless of course that 1 gig is space on your own hard drive
if aol were to give a short explination as to what spam really is, unsolicited mail, then maybe the accidental spam reporting rate would drop, a confermation from an online purchase is not spam, and if clarrified would help greatly.
This thing can be an ie users best friend, Spyware Blaster it blocks malicious active X scripts while allowing good ones through, which makes it less frusterating than just turning off active x all together (just remember to update often!). If anything does get through its nothing that a good spybot scan wont get rid of, just teach em to update and scan monthly and theyll be cool but not fools.
Could be that you set your direct36 settings to max preformance, or set your textures too low, happened on me mates box, try nudging up the texture quality a bit and compensate with lower values on other settings, that should help some. Good luck!

Or maybe its just a bug, given the average quality of microsoft products, would it really be that surprising?
