This is actually very convenient! How much baking/TV/laundry are you doing at 4AM? People are most active with their electricity during the day (peak is usually around 4-5PM) and so is the sun.
I think Gambling addiction is by far a closer match to what is going on with WoW. You kill a mob. You might get something awesome. More often then not though, you've "lost" your time for no good reason. You've risked your character's life slightly (granted the penalties are very small) so there is an element of risk.
Sounds a lot like the risk->reward scenario of gambling.
Whats surprising to me is that many riders and amendments that do the American people harm are slipped into bills all the time. But when has anyone slipped in a section that does the average person any good? How hard would it be to slip in a last-minute amendment that canceled the immunity? If billions (trillions?) of appropriatiations and Avg. Joe-screwing legislation can be slipped in to irrelevent bills, why is correcting it so hard?
How does producing images that look like child porn without actually abusing children encourage crimes against children?
If anything, it encourages more CG porn, both for the sellers and the consumers. If the seller can get 95% (out of ass number) of the child porn market without breaking any laws, why risk the last 5%? If the buyer can get the CG porn, which may be very good, why should he risk going to jail? With no risk of going to jail for either party, it may even be cheaper than finding children and exploiting them.
Plus, its good for the economy. Instead of having a caberet of sex slaves, you've got a bunch of animators and graphics artists pulling down a good salary.
If anything, this stuff should be promoted and definitively legalized. However, the "think of the children" folk can't grasp economics.
I disagree. In other games, you have a small army of resource-gathering minions building a fairly constant resouce pool. In this game, the units and trickle-back replace these minions. Like other games, if you run out of resources, you have to wait until they are built up again before buyin more units. If the time for the unit resources to 'trickle back' is reasonably long, then the player would have to resort to replacing units a handful at a time. Since the player who is sustaining losses is denied resources while they are trickling back, they remain disadvantaged. As anyone who has played a RTS knows, throwing handfuls of units at a horde of invaders usually results in favor of the invaders.
Some billionaires would take over other companies and sell off the pieces just to make a buck. Some would give a token amount of their money away to charity. Me, I would shoot a guy in public with 50 witnesses. Because clearly the laws of this country do not apply to people of such wealth.
about as much as quick and nasty History Channel specials that make liberal use of video game footage. TV and video games are completely different mediums. Trying to shove them together and hope it works out never does.
I think the fundamental flaw in most of these is that the cash flow was completely disproportionate to the amount the company is valued at (stock price). This is not a trend that is going away either. Is facebook really worth billions of dollars? Really? Suppose someone buys it for a couple billion. Is it possible to recoup that investment without driving all the users away? I would argue no.
I pick on facebook, but there are plenty of other examples to be found.
His version of a russian accent is pretty awful. Really listen to it. I really have to wonder why they didn't find someone who actually spoke english as a second language. I think he did well to get 100k.
I think what is worse is that they are painting these spar platforms as something completely new. Oil platforms in deep water have been doing this for years. They're somewhat rare but are one of the best solutions in very deep water. The great downside is that to move them, you generally have to lift the topsides (living areas, oil production and working areas) off of the spar with an enormous crane and then tow the cylinder section lying down.
GTA4 has sold over 3.6 million copies. Even if lawyers didn't like to brutally advance their careers through any means necessary, I would expect at least some of these sales to be to lawyers.
The government *wants* you to save those $1 and never spend them. They don't care about adoption rates or other such nonsense. What it does do is allow them to print lots of money (more than is being taken out of circulation) and make a profit. Hoarding money dampens inflation, which is pretty bad anyway.
These are pretty standard questions. Often the answers to each question by itself doesn't matter. They are intended to find inconsistencies with your story.
On a side note, "Are you a citizen" is not a good question. "Where were you born" is much better since it often leads to more questions.
I would consider an AMD Geode chip. It likely faster than you need, and you can get a motherboard/cpu/heatsink combo for around $100. They usually take DDR1 memory and 1GB DDR1 is very inexpensive. Video is built in, like most proper server boards. The power savings will probably be substantial over a "server motherboard" type computer also.
I sincerely doubt there was 1288TB of data. Thats 284GB per article. If significant numbers of them were CDs or flash storage the numbers start looking fishey very fast.
Its hard to believe they examined that much storage capacity, let alone that much data.
Its a great time to get into offshore oil technologies. Companies are screaming for engineers and there aren't enough to go around. Its also an exciting field. The engineering and level of technology on your basic semisubmersible oil rig has been compared to space vehicles. Deep-drilling rigs, spars facilities, and drillships are pushing the envelope even more.
I don't know about people in general, but there is a disproportionate number of hockey players who have beards. Clearly having a beard makes you a great hockey player.
At work, I've never said to myself, "Damn! I wish this screen was wider so I don't have to scroll!". Most websites are designed so that you don't have to. Vertical scrolling is the only scrolling I do, and a taller monitor is better for that.
At home, more and more gentlemen's videos are being shot in widescreen. So it makes sense at home but not at work.
"On April 22 Sierra County residents will vote on a quarter-cent sales tax to help pay for the spaceport. Neighboring Dona Ana County has already approved a similar tax, and Otero County has yet to schedule a vote."
I think this should be the story here. Why should state taxpayers dumping money in Lockheed's pockets? I have never seen a subsidy or bounty (as they were called long ago) that did more good than harm.
Yeah I know, its America and that the way things work now. But that doesn't mean these actions shouldn't provoke outcry.
This is the way it is in most power stations. In the two that I worked for, one was out in the sticks and didn't have DSL. The chief engineer had a shotgun in his office for copper theives and other troubles.
The other one I worked for had a wal-mart non-wireless router for the internet. All the control equipment was hooked up to redundant dedicated switches. The control computers were not connected to the internet router in any way.
This isn't just 3D goggles. You can also do this with 2 pair of polarized sunglasses. This is a good way to tell if they are polarized or not. At one angle you should be seeing right through the sunglasses. At 90deg to that they should be pitch black.
I've found a lot of sunglasses that were advertised as polarized but were not.
But he has p-p-p-powerpoint!

I haven't played this game either.

If you parachuted your way to and from work every morning,
Where do I sign up?
Open source, meet shared source.
IMAP, meet MAPI
Graphics card man says that CPU's not a threat to his businees. I'm shocked!
