It's not like Microsoft's OS in inreplacable. If the government really wanted to force them out of business, they could just make'em pay back all license fees in fines and spend those money on developing Free Software.

That'd be the Right Thing to create a Free Market.

  4. What is innovation anyways? on Open Source Worse than Flying · · Score: 1

Innovation is the Act of Sharing Knowledge. Any invention is based on existing knowledge of some kind, or input if you wish. Sharing knowledge between more people means more people will get new ideas. Then the more you share, the faster the progression. Given that you're able to make use of the new knowledge developed. Now, software is pure knowledge. Not a product.

There's nothing wrong about charging for access to de readymade software as long as you can do what you want - read: access source code without restriction.

    3. We get to obey a lot of other freaky EU rules, packing our lives with bureaucracy.
    4. We don't have to bother what the EU decides, we don't have a voice anyway.
    5. Even if we had a voice, we wouldn't have to care at all as we're just 4 million people against Germany's 82 million, so we don't even have to sit in the EU parlament.
    6. We get to PAY, and PAY, and PAY and don't have to do nothing but OBEY THE RULES, that noone in southern Europe cares about! No stress!

Man! I'm sick of EU. Gimme my country back.

Just be aware that the script have hard times dealing with special characters. If you've got MP3s originating from a Windows user the characters ` and ' are probably mixed up, so you'll have to fix that before converting.

  12. Norwegians don't get speeding fines in US on DVD-Jon Breaks iTunes Encryption For Linux Users · · Score: 1
On most US roads, it's a well known rule of thumb that police would generally not bother drivers who speed by under 10 miles per hour over the limit.
I was pulled over for speeding by 25 miles this summer. The police officer asked for my (Norwegian) driving license and asked: "What's this? Are you Norwegian?" To which I said yes. Then he told me to take it easy, gave me my driving license back and left.

This also happened to four of the other five Norwegians I was there with.

    I love the US.

Wonder how it became so that the only part of US that is not free is the people.. Uh, the US..
