Corporate infastructure is more of a "yes, sir" environment that does not allow for that much original thought. While original thought is a novel idea these days, great ideas can still spawn from free thinkers. Technology is about great ideas. Open Source is about collectively implementing ideas.
ticket prices have been going up every year, so a 70s movie like Star Wars cannot compete in dollars and cents. I just love how the marketing departments keep calling each movie the highest grossing of all time since they usually get more dollars per ticket. Of course there is less difference between one year to the next.
I have always thought of this site as a computer enthusiasts site. It seems to cover many platforms and technologies...which is why I like. I used Linux for 2 years as a desktop OS.
I use Windows. Can I be a Slashdot reader? Is it required to hate Microsoft to be a computer enthusiast? I use Adobe apps daily and play lots of strategy games like Empire Earth, so Windows is a good platform for me. I find Windows XP to be completely dependable...although I deplore the activation.
This is the worst time for this company to do something like this. Dungeon Siege is out and the buzz is that it is a Diablo killer. Also, Warcraft 3 is coming soon. This is what happens when marketers make the decisions.
One other issue is that Gamespy has a workaround to allow proprietary server games like Starcraft and Red Alert 2 use on their network.
That is a good choice. I will probably uninstall 0.9.9 when version 1 comes out and then install. The profile directory should not be affected and I have Netscape 6.2.2 installed as well.
They are going to recall Warcraft 2 since they need to remove the Orcs from that game as well. The new working title is going to be Warcraft 2: Humans and Humans.
Actually, I have been playing Warlords Battlecry 2, and it is very good with 12 factions.

Netscape and Mozilla seem to upgrade fine by installing on top of the older version. I have been considering Mozilla as well.

Netscape 6.2.2 did not work for me. I had to copy the link address and use IE.
