No, but if you leave your blinds open I have the right to look in your windows and see what you have. Don't like it? Shut your damn blinds (or curtains).
Yes, but a little more competition never hurt. Remember AMD used to suck ass until the Athlon XP. Recall some of the earlier processors had compatibility issues and such too. I installed a Thunderbird 1.4, and using a $50 Alpha heat sink (and fan of course) I couldn't get that darned processor cooled enough. It ran so hot I had to underclock it to 1ghz...
Really, we've got VIA, and Transmeta coming to the table now to play. What's the worse that can happen? MORE competition to drive up performance while keeping down price? Hell imagine if Intel had a monopoly on the processor market right now eh...
Well here's an experiment for you. Go take your car down a remote logging road, and leave it there. See how long it lasts before it's stripped down. And you'd be surprised in who actually stripped your car down.
Problem is that complete anonymity results in lack of responsibility.
I'm a big fan of privacy, but I'm also a fan of responsibility, and sometimes the line between the two is a bit fuzzy.

Totally. Try finding a company called Liquid Snowboards on google and try finding it on alltheweb... AllTheWeb found it WAY closer to the top than Google. I had to give up after fifteen minutes of searching on google.
(their site was down, and nothing more than a flash page; maybe that's why google punted it off the search results though)

I agree. I wish there was a google moderator system like on Slashdot. That way you can mod down stupid sites -5 and mod up relevant sites.
I'd add Roberta Williams and her King's Quest series to this list. While dead now, it started Sierra's conquest. And brought the adventure genre to new levels. If you play these games in order, you can actually see the evolution in the gaming industry.
Hmmm.. A telco developing UNIX makes sense actually... You were on the ball until that point. Consider what is inside of switches nowadays... Doesn't seem like it was such a dumb idea back then.
You still pay the Microsoft tax on all those brand names. Might as well save yourself the trouble, buy the IBM/Toshiba/Sony/whatever laptop and isntall linux yourself and take out the middleman.
So if a guy is shagging his wife up against the window, in plain view of the street, I can't stand on the street and take in the wonderful show?
Damn... Better stop walking now...
Some of us like wireless. I expecially like taking my laptop into the crapper to take a dump. :-)

Better than leaving it wide open. And you need a gig of data to crack it.
I wish they'd just save everyone a lot of hassle and RTFM...
I distinctly remember hearing people had compatibility problems with that processor, and the 486 clone, and the k5, and the k6...
In fact, I know some morons who, until recently, were still making those claims - that they would buy an Intel proc only because of that reason.
lol true about the fans... I recall I had my little proc fan on my p166 die on me. didn't know for about a year :)

You've just probably inspired a nerd somewhere to throw zelda on an xbox.
lol that's alright - everyone else seems to too...
=D
Just a little experiment to see how bad it can get...

This sucks because it's a guilty-until-proven-innocent measure.
It's the same as having a license plate on your car. Imagine the amount of hit and runs if you were anonymous when you drive your car?
At least we can track down kiddie porn assholes with measures like this.
Why not?

Radio Shack's gotten sneakier. If you pay with plastic, they look up your name in their database using the name on your plastic. Sneaky bastards.
In soviet russia antimatter rules you!
(argh I'm so darn sick of thse goddamn soviet russia posts)
Agreed -> fps deserves to be played using mouse-keyboard, not thumbstick. Definately takes some getting used to.
Diablo definately revolutionized the D&D style games to be a lot more fun.
The startegy style battles were true to the D&D genre, but not very fun for the average person.

lol I never have any way. IMHO Kodak products are all crap, from film to cameras and everything in between.

How much do YOU pay for your copy of Gentoo?
Very good point though, I hope you get modded up.
lol and she never noticed the icons changed, or that favorites became bookmarks? Too funny!
