    Well, anyone who has sources they can cite, for a start.

    This is how the 9/11 conspiracies made it to the top of search results. All of the web sites claiming that our own government did it pointed to other websites substantiating the same claims. Eventually, they all came around in a big loop. Gaming search engines is an old sport.

    They develop critical thinking skills. Like: How do we know that the earth is flat, round or spherical? What observations support each theory? And perhaps the most important question: Why don't the proponents of hive mind thinking want us to think critically?

    Not quite. The information contained in patents is in the public domain from the outset. And it is available for limited use for further research and development and education.

    Whatever happened to the requirement to provide a description of the invention "in sufficient detail for the notional person skilled in the art to carry out that claimed invention"? Better yet, bring in a working prototype. But try imposing such requirements and watch the bogus inventors scream. Patents have become as much a tool to attract venture capital to finance the inventor to start working on some technology as a means to secure the rights once R&D is done. And it is not unheard of to run through the VC money with no viable product. But still hold the patent to prevent actual competent engineers to build one.

    In some cases, patent claims are made with no intention of ever following up with development, but to block other entrants into the field.
