im pro choice. you had the choice whether or not to have sex. that was your choice.

but to be on-topic, i dont understand how debian is about non-choice. my machine here at work dual-boots debian/shwin2k and besides being a bit ugly, debian does just fine, with lots of choices.

i think the lameness filter should now catch this "1. 2. 3.profit!!" bidness

and to stay on topic, i would really like one of these, but sub $2k isnt sub-enough for me. might even be worth it, but thats hefty for a college student. oh well, pdas get bigger/better, and laptops get better/cheaper. someday ill have the $ to get some neat tech toys...

why is mine stuck at 97% every time i try to download it?

oh, and to stay on-topic, i have been very pleased with mandrake 9.2 and knoppix. i have gotten my wife hooked on frozen bubble, so she loves knoppix, too. i just got my windows box set up the way i need it(dual boot 98 and xp is not easy, but old expensive hardware required it) and would rather just have a live cd for linux nowadays. can hardly wait to try this...

why would this be any better than a dvdrw? portability? is taht the only reason? like everybody else has already said, youve got hd mp3 players for far less $ with more storage and youve got dvdrw if you just want it for storage. i honestly fail to see a reason why this would succeed. also, it doesnt seem to me like there is a big enough market for people who want lossless audio.

depends on your budget. its not a good value for me, because i would rather pay a lot less to do almost the same job. bang for the buck, macs arent good for my budget. i pay too much for pretty when i dont need it.

the mini ipod is much nicer looking and pretty dang small, but i would rather have a bulkier product with more storage for a lot less money.

plus that little thing is freaking tiny!

im always function over form, but that little thing is sweet looking. that will sell it. tiny cell phones have terrible reception, but they are still preferred because they are the newest, coolest toy.

Of course size and sexiness of the iPod mini come into play, but it doesn't seem like a good value.
isn't that the case with a lot of apple's stuff?

i mean i really like our dual g4 here in our office, it does an amazing job with final cut pro. okay, so osx is mad stable and easy to use too, im not saying mac is all beauty and no function. it just seems that i can usually get a cheaper, uglier machine to do almost the same job.

if you really want the sexiest mp3 machine around, get the iPod mini thing, i dont think i can be beat in the market they are shooting for. its a tiny, pretty machine.
