first of all, last time i checked, winmx is free. yes, i know, i plan to support the folks that make vmware soon by actually purchasing a copy. second, i dont have vmware for the sole purpose of playing this linux version of go. i think a lot of folks around here have it already.
but to remain on-topic, im looking forward to trying a distro that has less stuff installed by defualt. if i want another browser, ill apt-get --install one. thats one thing i dont like about most distros, albeit a small caveat.
eh... i spose im just feeding the troll, but i really dont understand how being encased in wood would somehow make those consoles louder. i also dont understand how you can say the xbox is a bloated piece of eyecandy. wait, isnt it even supposed to be eyecandy?
blast, i take full responsibility for that e on the end of your, ill claim it was a typo. the grammar i see nothing wrong with... the punctuation and capitalization, thats another story:-)
hehe, i accept full responsibility for making the mistake of it saying "the reason" instead of "a common reason".
you bring up an interesting point, tho. before i got married almost exactly 3 years ago, the thought of marriage scared me. that was until i realized all that meant was spending the rest of my life with the woman i love. THAT wasnt scary at all, rather something i looked forward to.
one more thing... while i agree that sacrifice for the sake of sacrificing is ridiculous, you still have to give up some things. the main one that comes to mind is that to be kind to my wife, im more courteous about letting her know if im going to get home later than expected. its not something i partiularly care for doing, but its something she needs. thats fine. all that to say that i agree with you that it should make you want to change, but there are still some areas that i do things differently in just because its a good idea.
i spose that makes sense when you realize that most diesel passenger cars on the roads today were made at least 20 years ago. pieces of crap mercedes and really small vws might be enough to make the general public view diesels as underpowered. and those isuzu trucks, ew. the "pup", was it? those were underpowered pieces of crap for crap.
agreed. a person can hide all sorts of crap for only 6 months. you also have to admit that the idea of a 60 year commitment has been kicked by the wayside. people dont consider marriage permanent anymore
how do ya figure that? diesels make great amounts of torque, i have no idea what you are talking about. why do you think semis and HD passenger/work trucks use them?
yeah, wouldnt want that data loose and just running around.
but seriously, the only way ive found to dual boot is to do windows first. most linux distros ive tried (slack, redhat, mandrake, suse) will handle the bootloader just fine and leave the windows partition untouched. the worst they usually do is have grub or lilo boot to linux by default, no big deal. windows, on the other hand, has been known (by me at least) to wipe partitions that it doesnt recognize. you are correct when you state that post 9x windows will leave the bootloader alone, but ive found this to only be true involving previous versions of windows, not linux. my experience is that 2k and xp remove anything they can when you install.
another somewhat related oddity ive found is that 2k and xp cd's sometimes refuse to boot on a machine that has had linux writing to the MBR, even after an fdisk/mbr command.
my personal advice to anyone wanting to dual boot is to only do it on a machine they can afford to lose data from. better yet, do it from a clean hard drive and dont waste a lot of time perfecting OS #1 until OS #2 is installed and functioning as well.
haha, no doubt. not only that, but they would complain to IT about the "inconvenience" i bet.
but seriously(and without flaming), who decided to make it to where the mail client can execute code that can damage the OS? how does something stupid like that happen? an honest question.
the whole of what i said sums up to be that people who are both are better. maybe i didnt make that clear enough. in general, math people arent as good as programmers at programming and programmers arent as good as math people at math. IN GENERAL. if you are good at both, you do not fall into the category of people im talking about. my point was that its a matter of specialties. yes, you have to know math if youre a programmer. yes, you (apparently) have to know programming if youre in math. if you are both, you are probably a superior employee. if you dont, you should at least know some of the other to facilitate cooperation on projects. the more you know about both, the better.
Perhaps, good sir, I am somewhat unique in this fact: I am completely capable of being lazy when I type on/., but I am intelligent. I have above average grammatical and spelling skizzilz, but I do not find it necessary to properly keep them displayed while posting on message boards. If I were being absolutely proper, I would not have even used contractions at all. I will admit to poor sentence structure on your second point, that was terrible.
what part of what i said is not true? i said most, and that was to imply people who are double majors in cs as well or who program are excepted. i dont see how what you said is anything contradictory to what i posted. in fact, i agree with the second sentence completely.

check out gentoo games, they have done it with americas army and some others.
seems like an obvious enough solution to me. tho i agree, it would seem that bundling it with knoppix would make more sense.

if they are on two machines with seperate IPs that would up his max to 60 posts per minute!

and thats definitely more like getting a non-sexual disciplinary spanking, for sure

think they are close enough to save me the trouble of testing fedora and just test Ignalum?
except that it appears to be free, while crossover is not. im downloading it now, so i assume its free...
he's right
