Since JBOSS did not agree to Oracle's terms for an acquisition and lost JBOSS to Redhat, he may just be floating this idea to bring down RHAT. no?

It's easy to make a movie about some mad scientist getting tentacles (Spiderman 2) or mutants taking over the planet (Evolution). It is much tougher to genetically alter cells.
Genetic engineering, inspite of its hype, is at its infancy and everybody should let researches do their work without some redneck in the whitehouse (who knows nothing about research) yelling at them.
It's like asking MS Word users commenting on Longhorn internals.
OpenSource is great and will work in the real world only IFF you give away your code after making changes to suite your needs.
So, Have you given away your version of Bugzilla?
If everybody is a 'taker' it doesn't work. But when organizations take it upon themselves to contribute back I believe there's no stopping Open Source.
Walking into a pre-school (while researching for my 3 yo), I noticed one side of the wall pasted with a whole bunch of unfamiliar flags..
Thinking it was my short-sightedness, I walked closer and realised they were the flags of the 50+ US States. I barely recognized a couple..
There was no world-map or the individual country maps anywhere..
Stop 'americanizing' education, and we will fare better in the world!
When you are old, want to kick back.. read a book and don't want your annoying kids/grandkids using your technology to play games... you will wonder why you wired your home

I think what this person feels is not uncommon. A lot of us think we are smart because we only know ourselves... we don't know the competition!
