Same here, this feature is absolutely awful and it boggles my mind why this is not disabled in Vista and Windows 7

I think it may be more accurate to say that 'Kanji' is the japanese pronunciation of the chinese character which in mandarin is pronounced 'Han Zi' and in both languages mean: "Han Character". The characters are written exactly the same, it's meaning is unchanged between the two languages, but the pronunciation is different.

,P.Honestly? I agree that the Tibet - China issue is a lot more complicated than evil communist takes over peaceful buddhist community, but I think saying China was the best thing that could have happened to Tibet is going a bit far don't you think?

I have to agree, obviously the end result is pretty crappy MIDI style background music, but overall I'm pretty impressed that it's able to generate something that actually does follow the flow of the song programatically.

On the other hand, are they actually selling this thing? It might be fun to play around with, but I don't see it working as a commercial product.

How do you know that all those infected windows systems are infected due to Windows and not because of some user's fault, some app's fault... etc.?

The latter scenario should be far more likely on windows because the userbase of windows is far broader and encompasses a much larger population of clueless users than the Linux world.

Personally I have never had any luck with the desktop search feature on Vista.

I have no love for macs but all I know is that spotlight feels a LOT more accurate than Vista when it comes to real time desktop searching and I'm not sure why

One word: Drivers The biggest problem with 64 bit vista: very few hardware manufacturers have 64 bit drivers for their system. There are various ways around a lot of the driver issues but it takes significant work, not something the average person is going to be able to do.

Or perhaps they will all switch to PC's in the same price range which all come with at least 1 firewire port. I'm not even sure why the debate shifted to the merits of firewire. The real problem I'm seeing is that firewire was removed despite its existence on pretty much every PC laptop these days in any price range.

I have to say it's sickening to think that there are people out there who would advocate charging for rape kits simply because they include emergency contraception. It's horrifying to think that there are people out there who know full well the benefits of a public service like this, but make a conscious decision to sacrifice the victim in order to satisfy their agenda. Why not just push for no emergency contraception in rape kits instead of demanding a charge for the entire thing? And the socialism argument is so retarded that I can't even imagine anyone truly believing themselves when they say it.

I see it every time I bring my laptop out of sleep mode, because it can't find the wireless network. I have to start the "Wireless LAN utility" to manually find the network, and it always wants me to "cancel or allow". There's no way I can find to make the LAN utility "trusted" to the UAC.

The typical Linux user knows more about their operating system than the typical Windows user. If you had the same amount of knowledge of Vista as a Linux user does of Linux, you'd have realized the problem you describe is actually Vista telling you that you should stop using a shitty third party utility to connect to wireless networks and instead use Vista's perfectly good built in one.
