Great to see some other 2 digit IDs are still out there reading. It's hard to believe I've been reading/. for 10 years now. Thanks CmdrTaco!
P.S. I met Rob once at a Linux exposition. I figured he might be famous some day, so I had him autograph something; my friend was being silly and posed as my father. So how did he sign things? "Your father smokes crack" or something equally loving.:-)
Yep. They told me they'd be happy to completely refund the AppleCare, but I'd need to pay 20% restocking fee for the hardware. I've decided to keep the box.
I tried doing this today. I called a support line where the person directed me to tech support person, then they directed me to customer relations. The CR person was nice, but said there was no way to get around the *20%* restocking fee. Even for a lowly educational purchaser like me. They'll refund your AppleCare completely though.
I submitted the news item, and thought it to be a bit overwhelming to cite more than one source. What is the appropriate limit as to how many sources to cite?
I think going 1 level down is fair -- I got the item from 1 source, the geeks list.
What if an item popped up on the geeks list that came from site1 that came from site2 that came from site3...?
Does OS/2 have things like *real* OpenGL? If SGI teamed up with IBM like they teamed up with Apple... maybe IBM could see more mainstream support for things like games and high end graphics applications...
I think Warp might be as close to a "java os" as we will get. I'd like to see IBM keep doing java based things also.
Anybody have any luck getting the scroll wheel to work on Trackman Marble+? I've tried imwheel and xfree86 built in settings.... nothing seems to work. So right now I have a non-functional wheel. Rest works ok though.
I've downloaded over a gig of kosmic mp3s in the past... and now they are selling a 2cd set for $12 (including shipping!) packed with mp3s and other goodies. What a great deal! Much better than normal audio cds.:-)
I've been reading your work for all 14 years. Thank you!
Congratulations and good luck!

Big bummer, but this post helped me feel better about it http://www.tuaw.com/2005/06/06/editorial-apple-on
Even better, go to AddALL, and search for lowest price. It's like PriceWatch for books.

According to reports, PC makers will be revealing unique new designs at CES.
Hrm... Don't know what I was doing wrong before, but that fixed it. :-)
Thanks!
HCP is another interesting project in the works. It lets you simply plug in existing protocols...
