    Were you born stupid, or did you have to practice? There was a Linux version of Uplink, there are dozens of people who have played the Linux version of Darwinia, there's a linux forum filled with posts. Or is it all just a vast conspiracy to uhm... well, actually, what would be the purpose of producing and beta testing a linux version of a game if they weren't going to release it?

    Being a beta tester doesn't make me biased. I've beta tested a lot of software that sucks. What it means is that I am able to express opinion on the storyline of the game, since I've actually played it.

    The screenshots don't do the graphics justice, it really is a beatiful game once you play it. Also, you can't really comment on the storyline, since the game hasn't been released. As a beta tester I can tell you that although the storyline is simple, it is well executed and really adds to the game.

    As for not being free; the developers have to make a living someway, isn't it better they're producing something innovative rather than still working at EA? Open source software is great, but computers can't exist without commercial software.

    According to google - Dark Fibre is Wool fibre that is either urine stained or naturally pigmented, it is considered a contaminant in white wool.

    I don't get it, are they launching a Welsh version of google or something?

    I'm running XPSP1 with all critical updates installed. To get the exploit to run with IE on my computer I have to manually change the security level to low, allow an unsigned ActiveX control to run when it warns me I shouldn't, and confirm the overwriting of files. What the hell did Microsoft do in SP2 to make it vunerable?

    No, the difference between Torrent sites and Google is that it's pathetically easy to moderate Torrent sites against copyrighted content, whereas to moderate every google listing would take massive amounts of money and man hours, effectivly rendering Google useless.

    What's more, it's provable that the main purpose of Loki is to illegally distribute copyrighted content. Noone is going to claim that is google's main purpose.

    Earthquakes cannot be predicted, however, earthquakes arn't the only cause of Tsunamis. You can see things that are precariously balanced on the edge of things, this is the geological equivalant. A small (geologically speaking) jolt could knock this lump of rock into the sea.

    I recently tested this on a clean install of Windows XP SP1, and it took just 2 minutes 30 seconds(give or take a few) after connecting to the internet for me to notice the system to be compromised, and that was with the Windows Firewall on.

    My advice to anyone with Windows XP SP1 planning a clean install - get the SP2 CD (free from Microsoft) and install it before connecting to the internet.

    Where I live, ink on paper is the only thing that would legally bind me to the terms of a contract. No click-through, no "by doing foo you agree to bar" etc.

    So, how do you buy stuff over the internet? You can't physically sign a credit authorization, so therefore, you legally don't have to pay? That makes little sense to me.

    I think Gmail were spinning the 'never delete anything' angle because with many webmail accounts, such as hotmail before the upgrades, you had to delete emails within a few weeks to stop you reaching your limit. I personally like keeping my emails (I have most emails recieved on my ISP POP account since 1999 stored somewhere), and previously, it wasn't possibly to have this kind of storage with limited webmail.

    There is no conspiracy here. Move along.
