if it doesnt include spyware, they are one step ahead of Google in that department
What google includes is hardly spyware, in the google toolbar you have an option not to install it. Microsoft software sends useage statistics and such back, and some software usage is reported without warning or permission, to a certification system.
Google is quite open and honest with what it includes in it's software, less so than Microsoft can be.

Sure, but the technology is already there, it's not unique to google. They could demand that the makers of spam filtering software put similar stuff in.
Besides, how do you know there are not already systems monitoring electronic communications, at a more base level?
Seriously, it is a shame that the United States has allowed our space program to decline to the point where we have to outsource stuff like this.
You call this outsourcing, I call it international collaboration, which is what the scientific community needs more of. Wake up, the cold war is over, you're not competing with anyone anymore. The more countries work together, the more will be achieved.
The privacy issue is the only thing that has been preventing my complete switch over.
Really, there *is* no privacy issue - I assume your talking about the scanning of emails for targeted advertisment. It doesn't breach your privacy any more than a spam filter or antivirus software, and personally, I rather the adverts be relevant (and discrete) as in Gmail that annoying flashy banner ads in some services.
As I side issue, I use GmailFS to provide an extra, remote drive on my computer - will Google be stamping down on this, do you think?
Yes, I'm aware Douglas Adams had input into the screenplay, for the many people who pointed that out.
It may just be my dislike of films of course. I just don't think this is going to do any to inprove HHGTTG, I think people are getting too excited about it.
Now seems as good a time as any - my opinion is that this film shouldn't be made. HHGTTG is a radio series and a book, it was never designed to be a film. It can ruin things when you try to make a book into a movie, especially when said book just isn't ameneable for the conversion.
I'm sure this film is going to be a HUGE disappointment, but then, perhaps I'm just being pessimistic.

Is that it's too bloody hard. I end up with no minions because I'm so evil I kill them all myself:(
But anyway, Evil Genius is a great game, and although the genre isn't exactly original, the concept and to some extent the gameplay is. It's also incredibly fun, especially if you like tounge-in-cheek humor, and cartoonish style effects. 87%, well worth a purchase IMHO!
Actually, I've found Virgin trains to be efficient and comfortable, compared to the old British Rail trains. The delays are usually due to the state of the lines, which arn't owned or controlled by Virgin.
Last of the bedroom programmers, or so they call themselves. Uplink was made with one lead programmer, with a Linux guru doing the port (though not as an 'official' company member). They have been hard at work with the mysterious , and should be releasing details soon.
Uplink has (slightly buggy) multimonitor support. Now you can pretend your in Swordfish or The Matrix or any other film where the hackers use multiple displays:)

Yeah, well, the TV series really sucked aswell, IMHO.

You can get similar images from the NASA Worldwind software for free, although they need to fix their servers after the massive slashdotting they got.

You're right about the sandwhiches though
Don't build it near a hospital, because the beam might miss and BOOM! Ah, SimCity 2000, what fun.
