What the hey is the difference what china is doing and all the western countries are doing?
They can wiretap me anywhere anytime, no matter voip, landline, mobile...
So what?
I find it funny: This is the a case of the data protection office of Hamburg, a city/federal state in Germany, not Germany.
If a city in the US is preparing a case, would the title also be "US takes legal steps"?
As an European citizen I just want to point out to all non-EU friends of/. that this is just a completely normal and standard procedure - it doesn't depend on which law or which country, but if a European law directive is not formed into national laws by the governments/parliaments, the EU automatically sues the non-conforming member states. Happens all the times, on all issues, punishment is normally the fine for each more day passing by.
But it's about scalability:
Of course it is possible "hack" pen and paper, but it's much harder to do for say 5000 votes, while as you just need to hack one machine to be able to change all votes casted with this machine (shown to be achievable in few minutes).
Plus, it is undetectable, if it was hacked or not.
As far as I remember my biology lessons, the size of exo-skeleton structures like found in insects doesn't depend on the weight, but on the oxygen supply. Insects and others have a passive respiratory system, which leads to a lower supply with oxygen of the body compared to active systems like our lungs. In former times the oxygen share in earth's atmosphere was higher than today, and also insects and spiders had much larger sizes.
Sure, you're completely right. No doubt.
I just wanted to grab some "funny" karma points, but, as i got modded as insightful, this tactics clearly didn't work out...
Did you ever come to hear something about denial-of-service attack?
Especially in the case of OpenBSD machines, running often on firewalls, routers and gateways, a lot of other machines are dependant on this service...
Did you ever heard something about Denial-of-Service - attacks?
Especially when OpenBSD is preferrably used on routers, firewalls and gateways, with a high number of connected clients, a lot of other machines are dependant on this service...
yes, of course.
but obviously this can't be integrated so easily, as also the system lacks the ability to use a name and a password for other shared calendars on webservers...
sad!
an absolute no-go!

Anybody else likes Googles "private" calendar link feature?
It's a link with a hash part, which enables someone access to the calendar without any username or password.
Google says, that "you should not give away" that link.
But that concept at all is complete crazyness!
Yep, right, I think for most people here without DSL it's just that the monopolist Telekom doesn't want to connect unprofitable areas with DSLAMS, because there is also nearly no competition with other technologies.
Also, flatrates just come with dsl, not with dial-up, so none wants to have dialup, as it's usually much more expensive than the 15 - 25 for dsl.
bluetooth headset range: -5m
cell phone range: -20 km
Further I presume, the range of the device is directly affected by the output power of the device.
they dont want just to get the provider master keys to read all the traffic as they want? because that's what in all countries the governments want...

because the first politician to state that is blamed as being PRO-child-porn, "most likely he is also having that at home"!

knoppix + dd

here it is: you need to register though...
Doubtful that it's counted as physical. Compression is probably one of the closest types of software 'patents' to a pure mathematical algorithm.
you could still be bound to pay for your ipod etc, as it is really "a machine" implementing this process described.
I totally agree with parent!
It's just that industry wants more cheap engineers, not more engineers.
Pure supply-and-demand: If there would be a huge, terrible lack of engineers, the wages of engineers would be skyrocketing. They don't.

Wow, I didn't notice that the EU was conquered by Belgium over night...
No, my Windows XP disc also says "Verbatim" ... ;)
don't forget to mention all the high tech chemicals and drugs on the driver side!
