Another behaviour that has totally puzzled me. For some reason i find the act of swearing at and blaming oneself as a little bit more unhinged then swearing at the computer, but since both behaviours are alien to me i'd be hard pressed to say which is more illogical.
Or maybe, just maybe, we're actually intelligent enough to know that inaminate objects do not, at least generally, respond to speech.
I find this highly interesting that so many people actually engage in this totally illogical behaviour which has thoroughly confused me each time i've seen it taking place.
Never saw an instance of Extra Credit at the University i went to in Montreal, Canada.
What i did see quite a bit of was bonus questions on exams, usually along the lines of derive this formula from this one. Made for quite a few of my Stats marks being over 100.
Best was a philosphy teacher who had a standing policy that anyone who could stump him twice would get an instant 90% for a final grade. Only problem was it was useless for me, stumped him way more than twice and it would have been a drop in my grade to accept only 90%, though one other student did benefit that year.
You do know that the US government has had lots of nutcases who can only see things as black and white (if you're not with us you're against us) who think it's their duty to bring about WW3 as foretold by the Nostradamus prophecies, and have huge 'secret socieities' dedicated to accomplishing that, hence their meddling in the middle east and the world to try and bring about the prophecies in their favour?

Just be aware that the 'corruption' in Mexico is mainly due to stupidity and not maliciousness. One thing the mexicans have perfected is how to always stand in the middle of a path. Our highways are a testament to this where to exit or enter you need to criss-cross the stream of cars attempting to do the opposite of you.

Only thing is, that the background radiation from nature is the environment that we've been evolving inside. If payload size is large enough say, 100k, couldn't we just design some aerodynamic capsules, give them some whale fins, slap on some shark skin texture on the outside. Line up the rail gun with whatever magentic fields are in the area (every little bit helps right) and then just shoot payloads and have a mechanism or plane catch the payloads at the top of their trajectory and take them the rest of the way to a space station. assuming of course that it would be possible to launch something high enough that the mechanism or plane is in some sort of non-decaying orbit.

1) We know not every human has the same sensibilities
2) We know cellphones don't have much if any impact on the average population, probably within 2-3 sd's of the mean, because if it did we would see way more widespread problems
3) Some people do complain or do seem to exhibit problems (regardless of whether psychosomatic etc...)
So, why do testing on a random sample of the population, which we can infer just by the current state of things that they will not show an interaction when you're trying to address the issues of the sub-population in bullet 3?
Now, it's totally possible that the sensitive subgroup is just crazy, but you really can't tell until you test them to see what's going on.
A lot of research is done this way when you specifically want to prove a point, such as vaccines aren't harmful. Which is actually true for a large segment of the population, so much so that it makes vaccines more helpful than harmful. However, there are others more sensitive and probably with lower immune functions that cannot cope with the vaccine, so something like the polio shot will paralyse and/or reduce movement on one side of their body, or have that side burn-out sooner (speaking for personal experience, not a nice thing to have one side of your body collapse after a bit of running around in the school yard).
These types of studies will never silence that affected minority, because they can see that the majority of the population isn't affected, but they can also clearly see (ok, probably not clearly, they usually buy whatever excuse is fed to them, but regardless something is occuring) that something is happening to them, their children or their family.
Long story short, studies based on average populations are useless for studying the possible effects on a sub-pop, even though they are usefull as an indicator of what the average population can tolerate.
Of course, they're also excellent for companies to use as evidence that their products are safe in the face of bad publicity/bad side-effects from a relatively small, but very vocal sub-pop.

You can learn different ways to perceive and move yourself along the continuum. A large part of yoga, and other eastern traditions, is learning how to gain control over these different ways of perception.
A large part of the problem is that the people defining autism are NT's that only see the exterior behaviours and have no real contact with what is going on inside the person.
Believe me, i used to cope with it and very much know the difference between coping with restrictions and totally removing the restrictions.

Once science understands these continuums more (and get's rid of the static object view of the world) they'll be able to see how what our societies (at least western) are demanding from us and teaching us is forcing us more and more towards the Autistic side of these continuums.

The 'god' divided himself into the many to explore individuality. With that bond supressed or destroyed, language needed to be invented. The then ultimate goal is to bring all the discoveries from division into unity once again, forming or taking our rightful place as the idealized physical structures for caretakers of the planet as well as the Gaia mind.
What would be interesting is whether all the EMF pollution we are spilling all around us is preventing us from not only perceiving this possibility, but preventing us from attaining it.
I've always found it interesting that there's a common dream shared by all cultures with electricity, that in which the individual is trying to fly but is prevented from doing so by wires blocking there path and sapping away their flight ability/energy.

In my experience as a TA, ~10% will hit on you to try and up their grade, 2/3 of those will be of the opposite sex.
