  1. Re:Cool on The Golden Transcendence · · Score: 1

Please don't take this the wrong way, but people missinterpreted both of my quotes. My first one, I was asking if it was good. I said that I was a Star Wars Extended Universe fan so anyone who answered would know what types of books I read. Below, I was simply trying to clarify, not be funny. So, lets try again: Has any one else read the series mentioned in the article (i'm not being offtopic), and please consider that I read many stars wars extended universe books in your response.

Sorry if I was unclear. SW EU stands for: Star Wars Extended Universe

  3. Cool on The Golden Transcendence · · Score: -1, Offtopic

It sounds pretty interesting, being a SW EU fan myself. Has anyone else read this serious, with any opinions?

That Org Vorbiss R&D is given an award. Its a good format IMO

  5. Great! on Space Tug to Save the Hubble? · · Score: 1

I think its great that someones trying to save the hubble. I like their analogy about decommisioning a ground based telescope because a newer one had been built and it would save money. They are absolutely right... keep it up there if you can, incase the new orbital telescope(forget the name) does fail, or just because so many people want time on it. Good luck to the tug!

  7. Re:Zen eh? on Shrinking the PC is a Zen Thing · · Score: 3, Insightful

I think that the smaller size was the point here. I don't care how it looks. I'd prefer $50 less for an ugly thing. I could put $50 into a good bit more ram, a faster HD, etc... I really have never cared about the way a case looks, as long is it doesn't stick out(IE, bright brown or something that really looks horrible and costs extra).

  8. Nice on Shrinking the PC is a Zen Thing · · Score: 1

That looks pretty sweet. It loooks a little bit big for your pocket. The previous ones were small enough to bring to LAN parties. Just wondering, what is the point. It was previously small enough, and this doesn't appear to be that much smaller. It looks sweet though.

  9. Currency on Exchange Rates Play With Online Music Prices · · Score: 2, Informative

I'd think that the online vender's would change price based on currency. I mean, sure they get great extra money from Britan, but they are getting themselves ripped off from Canada. I mean really, Britian is getting ripped off. Someone should have done something by now.

  10. Measly 1.5 gig on Mix Wi-Fi and Portable Digital Audio, Get Aireo · · Score: 5, Insightful

The summary says it has a measly 1.5 gig hd. Yes, some MP3 players of 20g or 10 or 40, but 1.5 is still a lot for many many songs. Hours on end to be truthful. If you frequently have time to update with your computer, I can't imagine 1.5g being a limit.

I see what your saying, it would be impracticle to do something like this in a visual way. I'm thinking a little bit differently, combining the technology with other more basic technologies. The big thing about this (IMO), is that it begins to transmit the dream when you are most affected by sensory input (REM Sleep according to the article). Now, some people do learn from subliminial messaging(from a cassette type). There is a post about someone learning risk from a cassette while sleeping around here somewhere. I'm thinking, have this start your tape at the correct time, and it could work. I'm no scientist though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

  12. Re:Dammit... on Sweet Dreams Are Made By This · · Score: 1

I'm not sure if you read the article. It slowly wakes you up at the correct time(in a gentle way), so that you are highly likely to remember the dream.

  13. I'm dreaming of... on Sweet Dreams Are Made By This · · Score: 5, Interesting

Darl McBride vs. Darth Maul Ok, on a more serious note, could this replace studying in some way shape or form. I mean a book under your pillow is crazy, but what about making it direct you through a dream in which you learn. This could really help self education. Imagine going further, having it teach you programming. Yes, you would need to record a plot and such, but I bet someone smart could have a computer generate one from an online manual or something. Just my 2 cents

  14. I'm not sure if this is good. on P2P File Swapping on the Rise Again? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I mean, even if the RIAA is bad, stealing from it isn't good. *ducks* If the RIAA makes a lot, and the artists make a few pennies per cd, your still stealing a few pennies from the artist. Because your copying its not as bad as stealing a physical object which costs more to make, but it still isn't right IMO. Back when Peer-to-Peer started (back with napster and such), it made sense. You could only get full cd's with one or two good songs, and the music wasn't great. It still isn't, but we have iTunes and various other music services you can get it from at a reasonable price. Unless your just sampling, there really isn't much of an excuse. If you like to enough to download, pay a dollar.
