I use this setup to backup up 18 sites on two backup servers:
t0 script generates backup file and.torrent in every location, then uploads the.torrent to the tracker, then starts seeding
t1 script pushes.torrent from tracker to backup servers
-> launchmanycurses (in screen) does it's job
Most people have only User permissions so they can't install something and we regularly do sweeps of unapproved software on those people who do have admin privileges. I'm the one who generally gets the call to remove the software. We also check for firewalls on PCs and other software which can potentially bypass our firewall or hide the user.
And what do you do when they must use software that requires administrator rights? Many manufacturers don't care about your problems with user rights (for the incompetents it' easier to build software this way) and not using their software is not an option.
Maybe Thunderbird's Quote Collapse could come in handy. I'm using it and it does a great job. Plus the quotes can always be expanded via a "+" button, taking into account the depth of quoting.
As for the number of emails, you could try sender throttling. Limit them to 5 msg/hr. They won't be happy, but that will give you a chance to explain the problems to them.
In the end, there's nothing like educating your users (even against their will).
All these scams by romanians scammers hurt more for other romanians who would like to buy or sell something legit, but can't get the chance, because they are look upon with suspicion.
Aren't there some services (escrow i think they are called) who make sure that the transaction goes according with the way it should?
I used a simple, yet effective trick: i taped my colleague's mice with trasparent scotch tape. The most interesting results were obtained with optical mice, whose cursors jumper around the scrennin 10cm increments.
That's great. They did it.
I've searched for a movie to download, other then the one @ msnbc.com, but was unable to find one.
Any ideea where to get the launch/separation (eventually landing) movie?
I liked better the economy model from "Voyage from Yesteryear". An economy truly based on skills.

There's no secret to the chinese hacking a server: each of them tries a password
What's with teh "No comment" mode?
You're asserting that the companies care about the public.
In the words of a known company, "most people don't even know what DRM is, so why should they care about it?"

Wouldn't it be better if they embeded a midget into the plane?
