  1. Cost Cutting? on Sandy Bridge-E CPUs Too Hot For Intel? · · Score: 4, Insightful

It is possible that this is a cost cutting measure. I think that a lot of people who buy standalone CPUs use third party cooling solutions. It would save Intel a lot of money in materials and packaging if they don't ship the heatsinks and fans that people just throw away anyways.

  2. No GBA slot, no sale. on New Nintendo DSi Announced · · Score: 2

I see no reason to pick this one up if they remove the GBA slot. One of the more popular features of the Nintendo handhelds is the backwards compatibility. The ability to only have to carry one device to play all my games was a nice feature. Also, there are several DS games that can have extra features unlocked or data transferred from GBA carts. Obviously, this kills that bonus as well. As much as I would really like to have the better wireless features, I will just have to make do.

Slight? It is rather noticeable. The email address I used to use for my job search has been virtually spam-free for 4 years. Since the breach, I have been getting flooded with spam from the scammers trying to get you to "handle their e-commerce transactions". It has been rather annoying to say the least.

  8. Reliability Issues as Well on No Hard Drive Bay On PStwo · · Score: 5, Interesting

One other big problem is that the current Playstation 2s are notoriously unreliable. While a user may have already purchased their system as well as the HDD, the odds are fairly good that they will need to replace their system within a few years. If they have to after the release of the PSTwo, there is a good chance that they will not be able to get a replacement that will allow them to use their HDD. Unless they have some form of external drive support, this is a very bad move on Sony's part.

  9. It all depends on the store. on Stores Neglecting Old Videogame Packaging? · · Score: 4, Insightful

The condition of preowned games also depends on the store you go to. The EB that I work at is full of gamers. If something comes in with the box/instructions, we keep it that way, regardless of policy. Unfortunately, not many people kept their old stuff in good condition until they traded it in. I doubt that 10-15 years ago, anyone thought that games like Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger would be so widely sought after like they are now. Also ask the person there if they have anything stored on the back shelves. I know we keep alot of our mint condition older stock out of the bins for the sole purpose of them not getting damaged while they are out there.
