The code to run netflix on your Bluray player and any other smart appliance has a binary blob they interface with to do the actual work. They can't "release the source" and honestly, the solution is different for every smart appliance out there, even if it runs linux
So, would you rather this site just announce small commits for popular projects on github? How about new companies of the week popping up in silicon valley?
Norton Internet Security received the strongest protection rating in DTL's tests, detecting 99% of the malware used
I call bullshit. This seems like a paid advertisement to me. The only reason they used a few undetected ones was because no one would believe anything hit 100%
I have zillions of dollars worth of comic books! Wizard says I do!
Boy did I find that out. But in the days when I was collecting comics, access to the high valued ones were scarce. The internet had as many useful sights as I could write in a little notebook. Ecommerce wasn't a thing yet. Years later, I decided, "Hey, they are still holding their value! I'm going to sell these!" and BAM, it hit like a ton razorblades... with a global, online market, there is always someone out there willing to sell that $500 comic book for $1 plus shipping.
It just isn't possible. There is a whole api (WUA) built on top of how it works now. Everything using it would fail if it moved to something different. That is, it is very evident that it was built with the update format currently in use to guide its direction. An emulation layer may not be possible, and even if it is, may not be more efficient than what is there now and also is work toward something that is EOL in 4 months.
The current way it works now, is the client downloads wsusscn2.cab, which in turn contains package.cab (among many others), which contains package.xml. Package.xml contains the updates in such a way that is flexible in that it can address more than one OS/platform/application/etc per patch, or more than one patch per update, or more than one file per patch, and so on. The Update nodes only point to categories/patches/files/locations/prerequisites/revision/etc via ids which have to be looked up deep in the file. Right now, that xml file is over 65MB. It would have made this easy if it were stored in a relation database, instead of an xml file, but it isn't and like I said, the API was built around the source of the information being an xml file, among other things.
I don't know of any women who do not where a bra. I also know of no men that wear a jock strap, except in sports. Hell, half of the people I know don't wear underwear. This is a solution tucked into an everyday use item, not a shoehorn solution that is tedious to carry or remember to wear.
I also think you need to accept that women are biologically different than men. It is a fact, not sexism. We produce and secrete different hormones in different places in different situations. Men tend to be stronger because they can grow muscles due to testosterone production. Women tend to grow breasts due to estrogen production. That is just how it is.
Any patient on medicaid/medicare gets more treatments, pills, devices, etc. because the hospital, dr, or specialist can bill for it.
You grossly overestimate how much medicare (and medicaid) provide, and ignore the cost of what you receive. Being on medicare, a chunk of your Social Security income is taken for part A. For me, that amount is almost $200 a month. I only get an allowance of ~$630 dollars a month to spend on the hospital/PCP/specialist. A trip to the hospital, and I owe out of pocket. If I visit my PCP (primary care physician) AND have a psychiatrist appointment, or a physical therapy appointment in the same month, I owe out of pocket. Essentially, I get a "free" ~$430 to throw at my medical care and the rest is up to me to cover.
Medicare Part B (drugs) is optional. It can cost anywhere from $120 to $300+ dollars a month, depending on what and how much you want. It is only beneficial to have if you are on a regimen of costly drugs that would normally go above what you would pay without it. Even if you opt to purchase part B, not everything is covered, and you have a varying copay.
A bitcoin can be divided down to 8 decimal places. Therefore, 0.00000001 BTC is the smallest amount that can be handled in a transaction. If necessary, the protocol and related software can be modified to handle even smaller amounts. "
Not at all. I'm a person that is disgusted by anyone who tries the "This happened to me, so everyone else is wrong because of this one case". If you tried to publish a scientific paper with that kind of research/went to the cops with that kind of evidence, you'd be pointed and laughed at.
It is also sad that you felt you needed to post AC to avoid karma loss AND tried to spin my reasonable assessment as a problem with ME.
Before winamp, you had Winplay 3. You couldn't even seek to a position in the song. However, Winplay 3 was easy on the system, where winamp would stutter at scrolling a webpage.
We've seen, what, 800%, 900% inflation this year? Competing with Zimbabwe?
It is pretty clear you do not know what inflation is. It is increasing the supply of money causing the overall value of the money to go down (total value/units of supply). The *VALUE* of bitcoin has increased beyond its increased supply.
See, this is a link TO a link, that links to copyright infringing material. Even the lawyers have to be careful how many steps removed they go after, else they will be going after the entire internet
That, sir, is encapsulation, not inheritence
Ah the good ol "I'm a self empolyed web developer. I specialize in PHP/MySQL and javascript" bit.

Thanks AC! Brilliant! Fix something that works really fucking slow by replacing it with something that WILL break a bunch of other stuff!

On school grounds, you don't need probable cause. You need reasonable suspicion. The bar is much lower

Ah the good old anecdotal story that trumps everything else. A study with a data point of 1. Must be true absolutely, unequivocally across the board
