So... You are telling me that Microsoft Access, or at least that part of it _necessary_ to read mdb's will fit on the floppy as well?

I like MySQL because it _is_ a server -- You can create any application in (almost) any language on any platform (think php) to interface with a MySQL database. Try telling me that you can do that with access.

And you _can_ also fit a SQL db on a floppy.

To sum:
-You cant fit M$ Access on a floppy, but you can a db.
-You cant fit MySQL on a floppy, but you can a db

-MySQL is free (and all applications do remain PROPRIETARY provided they dont modify the MySQL source in any way -- Read the licence properly dudes.
-M$ Access is NOT Free in ANY interpretation of the law (to test, try telling Microsoft that it's free...)

What the hell are you on about man? KDE does use libraries -- Just not the ones GNOME uses. And here, I see we have yet another mass-manufactured windows hater who says that generic uniformity of interface is a bad thing. Personally, I would rather have all my applications have similar dialogs, etc and be as similar as possible in operation (hence why Windows is actually reasonable sometimes, and why I use KDE) More than that, point out 3 examples of public whining the KDE team has made about GNOME. I haven't seen anything on their website. Meh. People like you make me want to go back to DOS. :D

"Please don't use "Basic" when you mean "Visual Basic". You'll pollute my memories of the good old days on my CoCo..." When I said Basic, I was not referring to BASIC, but the Beginners All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code in general. That is VB, BASIC, hell, even GW-BASIC... "PHP variable names are case-sensitive." Ooops. I tend to do everything not a string lowercase, so I havent even noticed this... but whilest on the topic of PHP, it rules!! :)

In other words, code that is non-standards based. You have to enforce rules, otherwise nobody knows what they are doing. the rules enforced by VB clean the code up. You don't need to use that "proprietary" ide (although it helps) And anyhow, why the condescending tone? :D

Maybe so, provided that Variabl1 hasnt been declared... :P Personally, I like Basic because of it's ease of use. Recently, I have been getting quite attracted to PHP for similar reasons. Once you use it a bit, its dead simple (and not case sensetive!) Case sensetivity is insensible. Personally, why is it in unix...? It's just another mystery the world cannot answer.
