What you say is true - but it is also true that by now the "working stiffs" - even those from pre-Dark Side days - must have caught on to the nature of the beast that that SCO has become. They will be cursed with a resume entry that shows they were willing to stay on rather than leave in disgust (although this could be a good thing in the eyes of corporate recruiters). So yes, they may bear costs that the weasels at the top will avoid, but if they do, it is partly of their own making.

are they not all they appear?

i used one for 3 or 4 years and it was very comfy indeed. i think the rap that they sometimes get has to do with the idea of paying so much for a chair or possibly envy on the part of commentators who had the misfortune to work for companies with more utilitarian views of office furniture.

Actually, dishwashing agent is made to taste horrible to discourage children from eating it.

This is also true of other types of household cleaners - some even mention something along the lines of *with Bitrex* on the label. Look for this and, as the original poster suggested, your problems will be solved.

was is needed is accountability wrt government use of information about people. even if these bills or this privacy officer start down the road to accountability, true accountability needs either openness or trust. openness in national security issues? i don't think so. that leaves trust, and that doesnt exist right now

ianal, but iirc whether or not lindows is a threat to their market position, if they see it as a trademark infingement, they have to defend the trademark or risk losing it. even if lindows were to go out of business, someone else with a similar name or other parody of windows coudl come along, be successful and when sued, point to the fact that ms never raised a complaint about this highly visible use.

they may wait, but their record on phone spam isnt good. sure they eventually created teh do not call list for other phone spammers but they started their own phone spamming long before they did it. but i agree with with you, it is not likely to be a way to get slashdotters' votes.
