    Wrox press has a really good book on XSLT, called XSLT, Programmer's Reference. Of course the key to XML is the Apache projects parser and transformer libs over at http://www.apache.org

    Absolutely correct. The kernel is not very important when dealing with a handheld. The API is essential. And more importantly, the user interface with which the API allows access. The Palm UI is pretty much the best for handhelds so far.

    However, I would love to see a linux kernel on a handheld, with a window manager that emulated the Palm UI. That way, in the future, when you are writing a palm program that uses some backend unix .so you dont have to sweat it.

    I agree, except for games based directly on Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, mainly to encourage someone to make a better LORs game than the crappy ones out their now.

    Come up with a name no one would want. e.g.

    • Snaglefootsnout
    • Farfenuglenotter
    • XP oh wait a sec. That's taken

    Also, be sure not to use the words "One" or "Net" in your product. Avoid lowercase vowel prefixes. Definetly don't begin your project with the letter 'J'. Try long phrases or even complete sentences. No one would call something, "Dogs barking wind server outside." Another cool trick is to make up unpernoucable names like:

    • Ythnp
    • Hprwns
    • oiuoiia

    • How easy is it to build current FreeBSD software on X? Pretty much a complete pain.
    • Are there any standard package managers included by default? Nope.
    • Does it come with all of the build tools Nope. No gnu tools
    • Do you have to spend a lot of extra time... You bet.
    • What are the biggest differences? Capital letters in standard directories (User vs. usr)

    Yes. The right to free speach is not absolute. Your example of telling people where to buy drugs, if viewed by the courts as a conspiricy to profit from the sale of those drugs, would be a crime.

    DS-5 Frame Rates range around 850 Mbps and are practically only working on fiber. Coax can get up to DS-4 with its 274 Mbps. Serious backbone.

    If you are talking about a Desktop OS, why not use Windows (you can always duel boot).

    If you are talking about servers, who cares what language its in. WebServers don't care, and almost all of the major app servers handle locales perfectly fine.

    Actualy, it didn't work. Fortunately, Armstrong noticed that Eagle was heading towards some jagged craters and turned the landing computer off. He then manually landed the craft, with only 4 seconds of fuel remaining on touchdown. Not too shabby.
