    Yes, probably simpler but also much more expensive. You have to consider that roads are so loooong. Moreover, you have to consider the equipment have to be regularly tested, repaired, and so on..

    I think that the article writer got some good point: having a soundcard working with a 2.4.x kernel is a bit tricky. No direct support in the kernel, if you have to recompile the kernel you must download alsa and then compile it etc...

    But now that ALSA is nicely integrated within the 2.6.x things are much more better!

    Forgot to mention, the Terramax is a not only a oskosh - ohio university collaboration.

    The University of Parma (Italy) developed the vision system (using Linux).

    Unfortunately, due to problems in communication (Ohio's guys are using windows they proposed to use NIST but it does not work very well), I think they switched it off during the race (buat I am not sure).

    Yes I agree Finland is in not in the EU! :)

    They tried to stole us (Parma, Italy) the EU food authority! Speaking about food it is obvious that finnish food is far superior to Italian food :)
