Biatch. You couldn't handle my nuts if I shipped them to your mutha and you ended up the progeny of that basement experiment. Oops. Cats out the bag.
You support freaks are the one funny thing that
occurred every day on that job.:)
Fanatical is an inside joke with the people who actually do the work, the Data center techs.
I'll tell you one thing. Support doesn't do sh!t but talk to the customer and deal with OS issues that can't be resolved in fifteen minutes...If they can, which is always a dubious proposition.
The FBI interventions are always handled with the
utmost fear and turmoil by DCOPS and any issues are laid on them.
Have some sympathy and have some respect for guys building, installing, maintaining and managing
a huge heterogeneous network with half ass tools and a CYA attitude from the top on down.
Perl is a pointless departure by an early gen visionary with glistenings of false deity upon
his bald head in the un-air>conditioned env of
the dataplex.
Perl is without a doubt structured so a$$holes
can find something to love and adopt, because
that's all I've seen parading it's abilities in public.
You know for some data oriented reason I still think of C++ as a 'stupidset' of C. After reviewing the apis and interfaces using C++ that are readily available to inquiring minds I believe it more than ever. You know shit like this was going on long before Stroustrop got jock itch over it.
All that C++ did, does, and makes is a data congested framework full of indigestible types influenced by the mode of the day. Java and C# suffer from the impenetrability of multiple archetype syndrome.
As far as IDES go. Man what a sucker play for money. What jerkoff worth his weight can't write his owen after a year and a half?
They seem like Freuds children guessing at how much better the next generation will be at ignoring their mom in the tub.
Okay, I'll speculate and draw some bad conclusions too. Maybe I'll get a +5.
1.Try shooting lasers through nice fluffy clouds
of water vapor and other less identifiable
elements.
2.We have nukes..why not put them in orbit?
Hell , that fits right in with your laser
theory. X-ray suitcase sized lasers powered
by low yield nuclear detonations. Sound
familiar? Star wars anyone?
3. The USA has enough technology and money
to put together a replacement for the SR-71,
but guess what..'they' haven't. 'They' don't
need to be stealthy at all anymore except
when it comes to justifying huge war debts.
4.Why do we have submarines that can deliver
nuclear missiles when we have ICBM's and
myriad other delivery platforms for our
nukes?
I suggest in turn that you read a
good account of the Korean war.
MacArthur was a fire eater and
was consistently wrong in his
political forecasts. The russians
had involved themselves quite
actively in the war(Who were flying
the nice Mig15s that gave the US
such a shock?), and were determined
that China should not be punished
for it's intervention in Korea.
There is an excellent chance that what you suggest would have led to a nuclear exchange
that would have killed millions of people
and led to yet another bloody world war.
Primal warmongering mindset?
Hostile and primitive societies?
What kind of science fiction are you living?
Take a look around. There is no reason to
set anyone on a pedestal at this time IMHO.
This is not so surprising in historical
perspective. Look at WWII's pacific campaign
and the ability of fanatical individuals to
prepare themselves against overwhelming odds.
Too bad for the politicians that OBL isn't
quite as drunk on rice wine or as suicidal as
the nips.
And the cameras and radar guns on the stoplights
in your community? These aren't intrusive enough
already without monitoring devices in your owned
vehicle? Perhaps they should just license the vehicle design to us and allow us physical use
as long as we are responsible little drivers?
Is it just me or has the world gone completely
parental, overweening and impossibly retentive
of information that is 'nobody's business' in
the last four/eight or so years?
Try SUS in house and configuring your vulnerable
machines to use a testbed in-house addressing
scheme that limits where they can go and what
they can do.
Sure it's not panacea but it is a way to be
a responsible windows admin.

I would ask no-one and make up my mind based on the same extrapolations you use to justify consulting 'experts'.

Erm..wrong.
Plenty of minor greek deities left and
plenty of lesser known roman hand me down
divines of other than greek derivation.
