Good choice for a free tool. The pop-up in the corner is slightly annoying but since it's free... And it has caught several nasty's that snuck in, but also has thrown up a few false positives for PUP's, but only in places where files had been downloaded (not system files etc.). Also another suggestion is ClamWin. It is open source and free. It is a little clunky but works great on obscure Win OS'es like 2003 & 2008 server plus all the Windows Clients from XP to Win 8.1. It also runs on Linux as I also have it on 2 different CentOS 6.x boxes.

To be fair, I should have listed in the original post that if I need to use a site like Slashdot or Soylent I use IE. As for the rest of my browsing, I use portable Firefox with a whole bevy of plugins. Otherwise i browse with a VM with read-only folders that I manually update as needed.

All we really need to do is enslave the 1/3 of heaven that has been cast down here with us and make them build our shit on Mars. I think it is funny that we spend all this money on the search for alien life when we have documented evidence that the little mutherfuckers are right here on Earth. Stick this chip on a decent MSI or ASUS motherboard with some fast ram and you have a nice PC for little cash.
