Well, I was mainly referring to pre-1940's America. Genocide (Native Americans), Slavery, Prohibition, Class Extortion all qualify as total asshole-ness. But, YES. We Are All JERKS. Either you're part of the asshole-ness or you stand by and let the asshole-ness happen.
It was neat to read about all the assholes in history when I was a kid in school. Was always amazed how no one really noticed how fucked up they were until several million bodies stacked up somewhere. But in the end the asshole(s) got killed and their followers were dispersed to never really be seen again. Now I sit here and watch as 'The Greatest Country On Earth' turns into another one of those assholes I read about when I was a kid. The arrogance of humanity is fucking horrible.
AND..They will change it again after a year, and then you will get a giant bill on that 13th month with ATT claiming it was just a promotional program and now you need to pay up.
This is really no different than pro/college football/basketball etc. Lots of peeps can't play for one reason or another so they watch someone else play who is good. It has been this way for thousands of years. Only real difference is that you can sit at home instead of walking down to the Coliseum.
^^ This. We already have web standards. Phones can already adhere to them. Anything else is just trying to 'Apple' it. In which I mean take something standard and then modify some part of it so it no longer is standard then create a false ecosystem around it then raise the price or make cult-like demands of its users.
It's about time someone shed some positive light through Kickstarter. Seems like a lot of folks have been getting the shaft from scammers and over lofty idea folks.
And I stick an antennae up and I get free TV with ADS. If I subscribe to cable for $150 a month I still get the same ADS.. Even more sometimes. IT IS ALL A LIE
I have Nokia 521 Windows 8 phone and it has a bug that won't let it send SMS messages if the WiFi is on. So I have to keep it off else no SMS which is what I use the phone for mostly. So glad MS is looking out for me.;)
I hate to burst your bubble, but if a company has to use ads to generate website revenue then they need to go out of business. I know that is going to piss off a lot of people, but it does not really matter about those urine stains.. Get pissed off.... If you can't put up a site yourself and pay for it yourself then you don't need a site that bad. If you can get people to pay for it with subs that is fine too. I see all these 'legitimate' sites crying about letting 'their' ads through because they are special and need the money else they can't keep the site up....WAHHHH.... If your site is educational then apply for a grant from the Department of Education. If they don't do that yet then change the law.

That may very well be true. But it also means that the marketing department is failing if no one knows about a successful kickstarter.
