Big, empty fuel tanks tend to condense water from the atmosphere, creating crud and corrosion. Bad for the fuel system. I try to store my fuel tanks all topped-up.
Google was the only search engine that got the correct results for me. I always marveled at the correct algorithm and was baffled as to how the others managed to attract any users.
"now, when we've managed to get someone to actually attack us" I guess I shouldn't try relating that attack to the war we're in, until we attack Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia, where our attackers are, or were.
The oil companies are doing better than J.D. Rockefeller's wildest dreams, and we damn sure won't get a working public transit system until the Auto Industry DOES go belly up. At that time, private cars should be outlawed for most of us, in order to make sure that we pay for the system when we DO install it. It's like the Cold War. We spent many billions of dollars on unusable weapons systems,to keep the bucks flowing between wars, now, when we've managed to get someone to actually attack us, we get to borrow our grand-children's savings so we can buy some real weapons that someone has to go use on someone else. Have you ever noticed how we have to issue bonds whenever our Fearless Leaders find some project actually needed by the public? Just another finger in the pie. Why can't we pay cash, just once?
Actually, if you look at that area, the environment is extremely fragile. The Desert does not recover well from physical damage. The few feeble/faux efforts to mitigate the impact will really push the costs up. The main point is to divert the money to contractors, so the more it costs, the better. Of course, this is at the expense of whoever lives there now.
The techniques being tested are for tax-dollar extraction. It is extremely complex and requires lots of study and careful planning. Transportation is just a side-effect.
This is USA, home of AMTRAK. Profitable would be cause for concern. It absolutely must not provide a viable alternative to the current system. BART only runs because it is expensive and impractical. Think of the Oil Companies!
I gathered that if they uploaded a bad string, the lander gathers dust for a wasted day. Beaucoups dinero riding on correctness. Matthew Robinson's team look like heroes, this is like the triumph of the coders.
I remember when my friend, Bob Ames was first running rush.com, and he kept having to change ISPs because EVERY ONE of them broke their promises regarding bandwidth. The business model seems to be provide the shittiest service possible to force users to upgrade well beyond their needs. Bob used to point out his throttled bandwidth to me when he was watching the news in dutch &c. Of course he had T-1 because he couldn't even get DSL service.
I imagine if you made a weak tea of Ephedra it might be good for a decongestant. I don't have any use for it, myself, but once I came across a GIANT shrub of it, (I'll not say where) and I tried chewing a twig for data purposes. I spit it out fast, it is more bitter than Drake's I.P.A. My ears were ringing for a while, and my face was numb for three or four hours. I don't know if you should isolate the constituents, they'd surely think the worst, but its just a weird-ass bush that doesn't need any care. Grow it by your Aloe vera.
I always recommend 'Fortunes in Formulas'. It's got some zany old time recipes. BTW unless you have a stable against the side of your house, that white efflorescence in your basement isn't what you want. Look under old dung-heaps, eh?
I never really discussed the Filthy Speech Movement with my old friend "Charlie Brown" Artman, but he was a very logical and thorough thinker. He never got cynical about being right, unlike myself. The problem that (many) see as "where to draw the line", (some) see as "YOU can't draw MY line". IMHO Freedom of Speech means freedom of speech, but I certainly don't speak for The Electorate. Freedom of "thought" combined with representational democracy ensure that the ignorant masses will continue to crush dissent(ing thought).
Majority Rule!
I was referring to transferring the heat out electrically. I'm sure that it has been looked into. The real step forward is getting the RAM integrated. A giant step IMO.

IIRC heat and pressure have been known to NOT destroy prions. Where is your source?
The year THAT dude signed the DMCA? Historic isn't the word that comes to mind.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you!
...leads to tyranny. Anyone can earn mod points.
Many brave young soldiers gave their lives to drive up the price of gas. Show some respect.
First, we'd have to nationalize our public transportation system.*ROTFLMAO* I've ridden AMTRAK, freight has higher priority
Coulda been a cold day. Man, Stockholm is beautiful. I would like to visit.

I never watched X-Files, but I have paid some attention to the News.

Airport Security won't be much worse after some haraam stunt by al-Quaeda or the Terry Nichols crew.

Think X-Games dude.

Britannica? Not quite an error, old chap.
BTW I liked the quaintness of my Ninth Edition.

Perhaps Darth Maul agrees with the majority of Red-Blooded-Americans that the injustice of this law is that thoughtcrime is not a capital offense.
