Just like how tv didn't replace film, the net will be another venue for creativity. Most notably the rebirth of "short" form entertainment, which can be cheaply produced by anyone. The growth of that market will require review and filter sites to pick out the best of the best.
Because Apple's streaming implementation is crap. They are years behind real and microsoft. Anyone streaming in Quicktime is either cost conscious or on some sort of medication. As far as downloadable video goes though, Quicktime can't be beat...
I'm thinking Real is making a nice chunk of change off of selling their RealServer software and Realnetwork service. Their ad clutter is actually turning content providers away because their competing with their customers. Not the smartest business room. Shockwave seems to be sliding slowly that way too...
Were Apple ever to have an OS for x86, it would definitely be in direct competition with Windows and would be yet another OS Microsoft could claim as a "worthy competitor" (Linux included)...
Is there any way these clients/protocols can have the capacity to browse for video added to them? What about the artist/naming conventions used on mp3, will that transfer well to a video search?
I don't understand. My grandparents and parents and numerous other folks I know from Jamaica applied for their Green Cards when they were still in Jamaica, then had no prob when they came here. Isn't that an option?

But Starr was popular solely for the sexual content. Do you think that info from "harder to understand" scandals like Iran Contra or the "Keating Five" would be so popular?
Methinks not.
To the contrary, Anita Hill would be a web blockbuster.
Maybe 2008 or 2012, but not this year. Most of the electorate is still NOT online, and those that are have better things to look at than politicians website.
Even politically conscious folks such as myself probably won't be swayed by a website.
Television and newspapers will still be the forum of choice for the next few cycles.
I just printed out the form from Staples and my understanding is that you have to purchase something first and then apply for the rebate. I'm in CA, so I'm thinking about trying this...
While MSNBC's audience isn't at CNN levels (they're on a lot less cable systems), their audience is a lot richer on average than CNN/Foxnews. Richer audience = advertising premium = more money for BillG.
As a DV filmmaker, Firewire is the bomb. I won't be hooking up my camera to the USB port anytime soon, and you can bet the thousands of DVcams out there will still have Firewire (1394) ports.

Football, just one more reason to be thankful we won the war. Or we'd be drinking tea and watching cricket!
It's so sad that this guy lives in this world of total self-denial. Wonder how many other marketing mavens out there are posting in online forums...
