Nobody is stealing anything, they are only copying for personal use.
There is a difference, that is why most people that copy information don't feel inhibited when talking to their peers about what they copied or are going to copy.
Why the laws have not been changed in line with public perception I do not know.
Maybe it is the 20-80 rule, 20% of the population telling the other 80% what the law should be.
I would disagree that programming a microcontroller is regarded as computer science. That is definatly engineering.
Because there is software doesn't mean you have to know anything about CS to be able to program.
Because consumers what cheaper products/services. Companies are only responding to the market. If the market didn't want these cheaper products/services then companies wouldn't do it.
