Oh but I did, my dear good sir, I quite got your point (just had to open my mind a bit) thought I'd point out the mistake, though. Must admit I thought it was a cowboy getting a bit carried away. For the record, I quite agree with you - but I did think that the mistake would cause a smile. Worth underlining it for the smile, I thought. Didn't mean to bother anybody. Mes excuses.

I agree with you - up to a point. If it does the job it's OK for me. If it breaks, I'll fix it - but I will not have a headache over it. And I'm most certainly not crying. I am a computer enthusiast and so like working with them - all of them. I know that all vendors make a mess of it on occasion and have grown accustomed to the idea that I have to clean up after them if I want my little corner of the IT world to continue to work. But "take it in the ass" no! If we get down to that level I rapidly develop "an attitude problem" and quickly demonstrate that I'm part of the "leave blood on the floor and hair on the walls" fraternity. There has to be limits and, if pushed, I'll impose one or two.

JEE-ZUZ, you can pray to him if you care to but, have no illusions, He and his Father are too far away to help us here in the IT industry and they don't care about it either. As for the attention span of gnats - there speaks somebody who has never had a cloud of gnats flying around him. Be careful, I suggest, gnats - even American gnats - have an attention span which is far from negligeable; and they bite when the mood is on them.

I quite understand the action taken by Zi Mei, and fully comprehend that he's "on my side". My fault - for I wasn't clear - the defender of the RIAA against whom I was contemplating drastic action was "Y2 (733949)" who's post is just a little later than yours in the list. If you want to read his post, you'll see that he specifically states that he defends the RIAA. I answered his post and, still angry, fell upon yours. Anger doesn't make for clarity (c'est connu) I apologise - but I still can't agree with you that one should try to talk to people like that.

Well my IP address consists of 4 three digit groups separated by dots, as in 000.000.000.000 . For those of us who have difficulty with the arithmetic involved in the calculation of 4 times 3, it is perhaps easier to count the zeros in the (example) address give above. If faced with a problem after ten, the final two zeros are counted as "eleven (11)" and "twelve (12)". If, as you say, you are defending the RIAA, you are in good company my dear sir - a bunch of twerps who's idea of fun is to sue children.

I don't think that the RIAA is going to get too far with this one. We can all relax. I have it from a reliable source that a certain V. Putin downloads Mariah Carey singles. I'm trying to interest Chirac in this same idea. The RIAA - the hell with them - Hitler didn't manage it, so it is not too likely that they will. We just had a vote here in France, where everybody voted against the goverment on this issue. Its election year here -'nuff said. And Mariah Carey didn't look to me like she had any money worries the last time I looked - I have the feeling that M. Putin can therefore continue his downloading. The RIAA would be better to continue doing what it does best - prosecuting (persecuting) poor American children.
