Actually generally in the changelog it would say that you contributed those changes along with your e-mail address, probably if the name matches, and you can prove thats your e-mail address that should be more than enough.
Except the 'features that no one wants to do' thing is easier than 'optimize this code so it works better' thing. Though most projects let you donate to the developers. Also I think most of the bounties are setup by end users that get together and want a new feature added that the main developers don't really want to spend the time to do (maybe are more intrested in optimizing). I think some use a system similar to bug track, except you vote for the things you want with your money.
I thought they would do a redirect for like a certain % of the searches, there is a symbol you can add so it will always redirect you (I can't remember off the top of my head).
The Slashdotting generally happens because the site's bandwidth is completely saturated, which is why slashdotting is considered similar to a DDoS attack.

The problem with comparing different architectures is generally the same program doesn't exist on both, and if it does both versions may not be the same quality (one could be programmed by the best developers that arch has to offer, while the other is a 20 minute hack job). There are really too many variables to compare a specific part of an architecture.
I'm not saying its impossible to compare 2 different architectures, I'm just saying its not practical to compare 1 part of 2 architectures and expect to get results that mean anything (though Macs are getting closer and closer to the x86 architecture as time goes on).
Do you expect an ad in the newspaper for an AMD 64? They aren't going to try and get you in with the most expensive one, but the one that looks good but is dirt cheap (may or may not be the best price/performance ratio though)
You could put a space in front of the name, and you wouldn't be able to tell. And if it installed several that all used the same icons and names (but with the space in front), how will you tell which is real? Especially if the real ones are pushed off the screen.
How would SSL make a difference? If they are going to block slashdot, they will block the domain name & IP. To get around it you would have to use a proxy, and if they monitor all data, you would have to use one that encrypts everything.
Why are you using RHL9? Thats really out of date now, you could easily upgrade to RHEL3 (or CentOS 3 if you don't want to pay for support), or Fedora Core 3. Those will be supported for much more time than RHL9 will be, and they use the 2.6.x kernel which is much faster than 2.4.x.
That would happen if the herbivore population sky rocketed because there weren't enough carnivores to keep them in check, so some species would then be having a harder time getting food (because of all the competition), then would eventually change to hunting its former competition. Given enough time a species could do a cycle.

Look at definition #2.
WMAs can have popups embedded. Also didn't the RIAA put ad/spy/malware into a WMA before?
It will probably be $X to download the song, then $Y to keep it after the first month FREE!!!!11111
Poor wording. It didn't come from inside the event horizon, but probably right outside it, or before an event horizon was created it was emitted.
IANAP; though, I do have a strong intrest in it.

Theres a link to an example on another part.
IE doesn't auto download zip files.
MS guy: "There will be no blue screen of death on the xbox"
myowntrueself: "What color will it be instead"
*MS Security advances on myowntrueself*
*fight between myowntrueself and ms security*
*ms security tasers myowntrueself and procedes to beat him till the audience forgets the question*
MS guy: "Any other questions?"
He also set it up so you can't post. Too bad...
Weird... Guild Wars also has 'Bork Bork Bork' as one of the languages...
So your going to switch to some other thing, notify everyone, then when it comes back up, switch back and notify everyone *again*?

You forgot to incrypt the command name.

It would be funny if the benchmark said that they had to reformat the server because it was pwned before they could even start the test
I think 4 was just released/is about to be.

They also generally show when the clipboard was copied, what was copied, when it was pasted, and what was pasted (along w/ the windows).
