Or maybe you're choosing to ignore 5. Those who like working with Macs and don't feel the need to crow or boast about it.
I work with both Macs and PCs. I own both, at home. I tend to like working on the Mac better, because it's just a better built system all around. But I don't feel the need to deride people for using Windows or other Microsoft products. I just do my work. I like Coca-cola too. I don't feel superior to people who like Pepsi or Dr. Pepper.
Video has not been removed. It's just totally bizarre. Don't bother clicking it if you think it's in any way sexual.. it's just... weird.
It's definitely about the character sitting in the chair so I can see why this guy would be upset.. but seeing as how it's not anything but bizzare/stupid I don't see why he felt the need to take any action whatsoever beyond shaking his head and muttering "fucking whackos" or something.
I agree. I do think the PlayStation Porn-able fiasco might actually be factoring into this too. But what a totally arbitrary decision for them to make.. porn = bad, but fucking over a user'scomputer = good? If Sony is willing to trade off the success of its Blu-ray format for a barely-perceived nod toward family values, they're even dumber than I took them.
I predict that the majority of movies to be sold in the future will be DVD and HD-DVD, but Sony's movie studios will publish in DVD and Blu-Ray, and in two or three years, every new player sold will be able to play them both.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Starfleet Academy yet. I must have played that game through at least a dozen times. I thought SFA was a fantastic starship simulator game.
Those familiar with the Milgram experiment and quitting THIS study are just fucking stupid. It's a god damn virtual person. IT IS NOT A REAL PERSON! There is no torture going on.. only exchanges of bits flowing through a system which is working in perfect order. If you KNOW it is a digital simulacra of a person and you refuse to participate in an exercise which simulates pain in the simulacra then you failed the test.
Now, maybe it was a really gruesome and bloody reaction that was shown, like the sim violently convulsing and bleeding from the eyes. Okay, I could see getting squeamish about that. I don't particularly like slasher films, myself. But if it was just about refusing to participate because the subject didn't feel comfortable causing non-existant pain in a non-existant entity then the subject is just too gorram emo to walk this earth.
These are the same people who think playing a game like GTA or Doom is a predictor of violent behavior in the real world. (People like that oughta be eviscerated, ba da bum tsh teehee)

Dignity as a human being. Without free will, we are all helpless automatons.
I don't know about you, but I take responsibility for my bad decisions AND my good ones. I wouldn't want to live any other way. (And I am not religious in any sense.)

Congratulations.. you just 'slashdotted' movie rental stores worldwide.
What I do is play the downloaded iTMS files while Wiretap records it to an AIFF. Then iTunes happily rips the AIFF into MP3, I replace the m4p with the mp3 in my playlist, and I'm good to go.
I don't see why this is a big deal. The fact that a person is making money providing a service using a MMORPG (or MMORLS if you prefer) is really no different from someone making money with any other kind of internet business. I don't see how this is much different from someone selling custom-made clothes for your Sims. Besides we already have in-game advertising, and the SL Reuters "branch office".. does it surprise anyone that somebody's found a viable business angle? And will it surprise anyone when the new Democratic Congress starts pushing legislation through to tax it?
Mods are on crack today. How is praising a poster for his well-made point FLAMEBAIT?
I've said it before: people who "argue" by means of moderation are COWARDS. Worse cowards than ACs. If you don't agree with me then POST A REPLY and argue like a man. Modding me "flamebait" or "overrated" is pure unadulterated cowardice.
> Again it's not paranoia pal. The video clearly shows cops electrocuting someone
We must not be watching the same video. You're watching one where the cops kill somebody. No wonder you're confused.
Regardless, since you seem happy to live in your little worldview, I'll stop wasting my time trying to help you out of it. This being a free country, you're free to believe whatever you'd like. My advice: next time you get pulled over, at least try not to call him a fascist pig and cry about rights being violated when he asks for your license.
I watched the video, "pal". You see a paranoid fantasy of facist cops descending on a helpless poor minority student who has every right to do whatever he wants, whenever and wherever he wants. I see cops doing their jobs, treating a hostile, unknown quantity as a hostile, unknown quantity. Cops have to be mean sometimes to people who won't accept that THEY are in charge in that situation. This student's rights were not being violated--he was asked to produce ID, he refused, he was told to leave, he refused, he was WARNED that further refusal would result in serious consequences, and he refused further. I see from his lawsuit that he still hasn't learned the lesson. The movie, along with a detailed explanation of tasering and its effects, should exonerate the cops, not convict them. (Of course, it's California, where common sense is not always the overriding factor in courts.)
Hell, I've got some 'blah' I'd be willing to let go for $5000.
Thank god I don't know you in real life. I'd never be able to believe a word out of your mouth.

oh yeah? Watch me! *rips a $5 in half*
oh, damn. I was gonna buy something with that ...

Usually, the public is smarter than that. But not necessarily when it comes to politics.

Well they're only trainees of course. Can't expect them to actually WORK!

I've got some karma to burn and this annoys me.

I'd recommend .bs if it wasn't already taken. .cin?
Wow, I thought of Aeris almost immediately upon reading the abstract. Nice to know I wasn't the only one.

He could have been talking about Intuit, but then we know Intuit has no "Do No Evil" maxim anywhere near its corporate mission statement.
